Our arranged marriage

Chapter 3

Ayush's pov:
I was busy working in my office since 5 hours skipping my lunch and just sipping coffee for 3rd time. These are the perks of being a CEO

I'm Ayush Khurana son of Swarna and Manish Khurana. My dad decided to retire and so gave me the CEO post to me last year. I live alone in a luxurious apartment though I wanted to stay with my parents they insisted me to start living independently.

Finally after hours i was done with my work and started heading out bidding good nights to everyone who wished me. I sat in my black Land Rover which I bought a few months ago. I buckled myself with the seatbelt and started driving to my apartment.

As I was driving i got a call from my mom. I accepted the call and connected it to my AirPods.

"Hey mom"i said all tired
"Hi Ayush, are you on your way to your apartment?"she asked me excitedly? i dont know why
"Yes ma (mom) ,what's wrong?"i asked all confused
"Nothing's wrong , it's just that me and your dad wanted to talk to you about a few things"she said, I frowned what could they possibly want to talk to me about.
"Oh okay then do you guys want me to come home?"i asked her she replied yes so i told her that I'll be there in 10 and cut the call.

What did they want to talk to me about was the only thing i could think about while driving.

As I reached home i parked my car and went in and saw my dad and mom sitting in the living room talking about something while cuddling with each other. A smile broke on my face while seeing them. I always wish to have something like them. I came out of my thoughts when they saw me , I went and hugged them both

"Hello young man , how was work today?"dad asked me settling down on the couch
"As usual hectic" I replied and asked them " what did you guys wanted to talk to me about?"
"Oh we'll discuss that while having dinner go and freshen up I'll set the plates till then" she said getting up from the couch and going in the kitchen
I looked at dad expecting that he will tell me what's going on but he just shrugged. I sighed and removed my suit and got freshened up in one of the rooms

I went in the dining room and sat down on the chair with my parents. We started eating and talking about random things while i was curious about what they called me here for . Dad sensed it and gave my mom a nod as if he's signaling her to talk

"Finally" said my subconsciousness

"Ok so Ayush you know that we are going to India right?"she asked me and i nodded

"Umm we were thinking if you could come along. And it's been a long time since you went India and if you remember navratri starts next week so..."she trailed off
Okayyy.... I sighed and looked at them

"When are you guys leaving?" I asked them to which they both smiled
"Tomorrow night" my dad replied
"Ok, I can't come along with you guys tomorrow as i have meetings so you both take the private jet and I'll take a flight on Sunday which is day after tomorrow" i told them to which they nodded smiling

"Oh and I wanted to talk to you about another thing" said ma she continued after taking a bite she asked " do you have a girlfriend?" I got shocked where did that come from!

"No I don't , but why are you asking me that all of a sudden?"i asked still shocked
"Toh settle kyu nai hojate beta?"(then why don't you get settled child) she asked trying to look sad. She knows that I can't see them sad so she's blackmailing me now

"Well you see I don't think I have a problem with setting down its just that I haven't found the right girl yet and I'm just 27"i told mom trying to look angry but I couldn't
"Ayush this is the right age for you to get married. And about finding the right girl, how about I find you one?!"she asked me excitedly
"You mean arranged marriage"i asked her she nodded

Hmmm... well I don't know my parents were arranged and they are living happily but not all arranged marriages are happy. But for them i can do anything they mean the world to me so I'm gonna agree but I'll tell them that I'll get married to the girl they choose , only if i like her or its off

I told them that and they agreed happily which made me little happy. I slept in my room which i used to live in before moving out.

The next morning i woke up late as my meetings started in the afternoon and I haven't slept for a while. I went down in my workout clothes , told mom that I'm going out for a jog and headed out.

While jogging I bumped into a girl or should I tell a really beautiful one.
She moved back and looked up at me as she was a little shorter than me . She looked shocked but immediately looked down and said sorry, i was lost in admiring her but after a moment I said it wasn't her fault it was mine and said sorry , she looked up again and made an eye contact for a few seconds but looked down embarrassed amd said it was ok as it was her fault as well .

I then introduced myself and extended my hand to her which she took smiling . Gosh her smile is so beautiful I might just fall...wait what am i even thinking I should stop thinking all this. She said her name was Khushi Singhania ,beautiful name for a beautiful girl I thought.

I was about to ask her if she lives in India because her name says so and because I've never seen her here before but i was cutoff as she got a call she looked at her phone and then at me then hurriedly said it was nice to meet me and ran off?why? I frowned.

After jogging for another 30 mins I went back home still in thoughts about my Khushi. Wait my khushi? Where did that come from...

I came out of my thoughts when mom came and snapped her fingers in front of me

"Kaha kho gaya hai tu , tabse bularahi hu kuch bol hi nai raha hai?"(where are you lost I'm calling you since that time but you arnt telling anything)

"Kuch nai, what happened?"(nothing) i asked her
"Go take a shower we have a guest coming over, you'll have your lunch here then go to work yes?" She asked
"Yepp"i said standing up and moving towards her and kissing on her cheek and went to take a shower

Who's coming home though?
