17|The realisation

Manik stood by the window as he replayed all the meetings between him and Nandini. How they first met, how they talked for the first time at thier hideout. How Nandini kept her head on his shoulder, how she shared her worries with him. How she cutely asked him to teach her the chapters, how she called him to have dinner. How they had thier own sweet time. Then when she got drunk how she behaved

A small smile was dancing on his lips and his eyes were shining

Manik was like a small kid, he was already wounded and scarred by demons in his past. He craved love, affection and attention, he never used his past as an excise to be arrogant to people or hurt others. He did not even make friends or gell much with others though he was sweet but he did not really let much people get into his private circle. The reason why he was drawn towards Nandini was her innocence. He liked how she was, innocent, naive yet headstrong.

She was a baby in front of him but Manik too forgot all his worries when he would be with her. He had the best time of his day talking to Nandini, one might say Nandini was too caught up in her own miseries but the fact was she never got any one to share things with. Same with Manik, though Cabir was always there but his professional demands always led to a physical distance between them. Mukti though was you ger than him but he knew she could be counted on however for her studies she too grew up away from him.

He needed peace and surprisingly he found that peace in someone's smile. Nandini's

She was having mixed feelings. Never in her life did she have a boyfriend nor did she ever had a crush, her chilhood was traumatic and she never really got time for this

Manik was always on her mind, she was strangely thinking about him. Ever since she came across this man she would always be pre occupied however today every thing was different, maybe the fact that she recalled how she behaved with him yesterday when she was drunk.

Nandini was childish yet mature however she would not behave this way with anyone even if she was not in her senses.

She said to herself pouting and as if on a cue navya messaged her

They kept on chatting till Nandini fell asleep. The next day when Nandini woke up she was super late

Huffing she reached the class only to see her class mates seated and relaxed .

Jason came to her

I was late and and I thought Tyler would be angry but tell me something why has the test not started
Nandini said still panting for breath

He replied and Alya to came to them

She dragged them

As they sat Nandini looked at Stephie who was sitting parallely, looking at Jason with longing eyes

Her mind drifted to thier almost fight, well one could not really call it a fight it was more like Stephie snapping at Nandini

Her words rang in her mind as she looked away

Maybe Stephie is in love with Jason

It made sense, the way she behaved around him. She would always want his attention solely to herself, and ofcourse hated any girl who came close to him

Sarcastic smile she was still in her thoughts when someone shook her that was Alya

Suddenly she found herself in front of a very angry Tyler

She quickly looked down and toon a pen out

Tyler gave them all the practise sheets and she made a mental note to never zone out. Thi maniac was no less than Margaret

Margaret was called out to teach another section and Manik came to this class as an invigilator. Nandini knew she now has a distraction

So I really am not going to give a speech but please refrain yourself from cheating or using unfair means.
He said sitting on the chair keeping his right leg over the left one

He kept his eye on everyone but ofcourse Nandini kept him quite occupied

Needless to say right !

He smiled when he saw Nandini pouting

Damn she looks so cute

He calmed himself and said

Half an hour to go

He reminded and Nandini looks up, thier eyes met

She looked worried about the test but he simply blinked his eyes, she smiled and went back to writing. Manik was admiring her but at the same time was watchful of other kids too
