29|Girlfriend

Nandini yawned as she held her hair in a clip. It was past 2 but she was still up studying for the upcoming test.

Just 3 more topics and I'll be done for the day
She said to herself and started jotting down notes.

Mid way through her studies her mind drifted off to Manik and red colour rushed through her cheeks graced her face

Before she could think, her hands on her own called him and before she could cut the call Manik picked it up
All good Nandini ? Everything is ok right
He sounded alarmed

Uhm yess all good I uhm just I called you by mistake
She stuttered and he chuckled

Missing me already kiddo ?
She blushed and nodded

Don't nod kiddo I'm not there to see you

How do you know I'm nodding
She asked looking towards her window

Don't look here and there i'm at my house and second I know you enough
He told her

Ohkay Mr know it all
She teasing causing me to chuckle

I realised something, I never asked you to be my girlfriend
Manik suddenly said and Nandini paused, her eyes widening

Manik

Nandini will you be my girlfriend

There was a long pause

Nandini you are scaring me

Of course Manik I urghhh ofcourse I'll be your girlfriend professor Manik heck I am your girlfriend now
She said and his face beamed with happiness.

They were wierd, did not confess the cliche way, proposed in phone and romanced in college but whatever they were together they were perfect.

But why are you up so late don't you have college tomorrow ? Are you planning to bunk or what
He asked as he got down from his bed and walked towards the window

No no I'll come I'm just studying for the exam.

Ahh so my girlfriend is the studious types

Yesssss and also I need to study a lot, Lissy ma'am said the BST exam is very tough
She said stressed

Nandini you need to calm yourself, I know you've studied enough. Plus you've done the practise tests really good also trust your professor I'll prepare you all well
He teased her and she smiled

Manik you know that Warren, he left the college
She told him and his eyes turned dark

He did what he should have done long back, now go sleep
He almost ordered and Nandini went off to sleep.

Manik too slept thinking of Nandini amd Warren.

His kiddo was now his girlfriend, Warren was taken care of and his business was flourishing well

But-

Manik's heart was not at peace, even though he was happy his mind was alert. Something was coming there way. What ? He didn't know but he did know something was about to happen, something bad.

He forced his eyes shut and let sleep engulf him.
