Trevor's POV
I don't know what's gotten into Nica for treating me for lunch. The way she dove into the food that I bought for her makes me want to spoil her more. Pero hindi pwede. I'm only doing this because I have to.
The way she munched at that muffin makes me want to taste her lips with chocolate crumbs all over them. Her eyes screaming with delight, her hair bouncing because of joy, I wonder what it's like to be loved by her.
By Nica, a provincial girl I accidentally fell in love with.
We arrived at this carinderia which according to her is her favorite place to eat when the campus cafeteria is not open.
I don't eat here. I don't even live around campus since I have my own condo. But Nica's effect on me makes me want to try something new, as long as I'm with her.
"Okay lang ba? Dito na tayo kumain?" of course, it's not okay. But as long as you're my company, I'll take it all.
Ipinamulsa ko ang aking mga kamay sa aking pantalon 'saka marahan na tumango. I saw that familiar spark of happiness in her eyes again. She smiled, like a happy kiddo and my heart, my heart is aching from the sight I'm seeing.
How can love be so cruel? How can falling be so cruel? How can falling in love with a girl who can never be yours be this painful?
Kung tutuusin, I shouldn't even be feeling this agony. I'm Trevor, the guy everyone wants to be with. I can just have a girlfriend in a second if I only wanted to. But then, here comes Nica, shattering me, destroying my principles, making me feel weak.
She's my weakness. She'll always be the reason behind this broken heart.
I'm a pathetic guy hoping that one day, maybe the tables would have turned and Nica would be mine.
She grabbed my hand, which made me fucking startled, and pulled me towards a vacant table. "Upo ka na muna riyan. Ako na mago-order for us." Malambing nitong sabi 'saka na umalis.
After a few minutes of battling with my heart and mind, I already gave up. Sakto rin na dumating na siya, holding a plastic tray with food on it. Agad ko iyong kinuha mula sa kanya and placed it on the table top.
"Kukuha lang ako ng kutsara't tinidor." Sabi nito and left habang ako naman ay abala sa paga-ayos ng mga plato ng kanin at ulam sa table. Nang makabalik siya, may dala rin itong dalawang baso, a metallic one I think that seems to be from the ancient.
"Oh sabaw mo." She said before handing me the, what do you even call this thing? "Nag-order ako ng gulay at karne just to be safe. Hindi ko naman kasi alam kung anong gusto mo."
"Thank you." Iyon na lang ang tangi kong nasabi before eating. To be honest, the food is great.
"Uhm," umangat ang aking tingin sa kanya. "Kami ni Jacob, inayos muna namin ang sched namin for the review." Tinignan niya ako. "Since same naman tayo ng schedule, weekend na lang ang pag-usapan natin."
"I'm free any day. Basta sabihan mo lang ako." Sagot ko habang ipinagpatuloy ang pag-kain.
"Ako naman, 'wag lang Sunday. Lumuluwas kasi ako ng bayan para maggrocery ng mga kailangan sa dorm." I arched my brow. "Mas makakatipid kasi kung magluluto ako kaysa bili ng bili sa cafeteria."
"Isn't that why you have a scholarship?"
"Oo pero iniisip ko kasi, for future and emergency purposes. Isa pa, alam ko naman magluto. Mas okay na iyon."
"May kasama ka ba?"
"Usually si Kezhia pero meron daw silang club activity sa Linggo kaya hindi siya makakasama."
