Enkai and Kasai noticed the change in their brother's attitude. He was happier and gentler. Zuko would smile a lot whenever someone mentioned Makaira.

"Makaira must be something because Zuko is head over heels in love with her." Kasai said. "I believe so." Enkai agreed,"I think that the pair will marry after some years." "Agreed."

Zuko entered. He held the biggest smile on his face. "Another evening with Makaira?" Kasai asked. "Yes. We went on another walk and she gave me this." Zuko showed a flower crown.

"Beautiful." Enkai said, causing the older brother to smile. The brothers began to chat. "My king?" "What is it, Kenzo?" "There is someone to see you." Zuko nodded. "I will return." The twins nodded before turning back to chat.

Zuko entered the throne room. General Takahashi stood there. He bowed once he noticed Zuko’s presence. "My king." "General." General Takahashi stood. "I hear of you and Makaira spending days and nights together as lovers, is that true?" General Takahashi questioned.

"It is." Zuko confirmed. General Takahashi smiled. "Well I wish the both of you luck." "Thank you General but I am afraid you did not come to congratulate me on my new lover."

General Takahashi shook his head. "I am afraid not, my lord." Zuko sat on his throne. "What is it?" Zuko asked. "There is talk of an army that wishes to overthrow you and take the kingdom for themselves." He answered.

"Who are they?" "Prince Haruto's army." General Takahashi watched as Zuko’s eyes narrowed. "He is heir to the throne once his father has passed." General Takahashi told him, "What should we do, my lord?"

"Has he attacked any of our men or people or damaged any of our crops or homes?" General Takahashi shook his head. "Then I want our men to be ready whenever he tries to attack but for now, keep an eye out." He said.

General Takahashi nodded. "Is that all?" "Yes." "Then you are dismissed." Takahashi bowed before leaving. Zuko sighed. Troublesome, he thought.

"Something wrong, my king?" Zuko opened his eyes. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Nothing that should worry you, my love." Zuko offered her his hand. She took it. He pulled her to him. "What are you doing here, Makaira?" Zuko asked.

"I just came to check on you to see if you were alright but it seems like something troubles you." Makaira said as she cupped his face. "It is nothing." As much as Makaira didn't want to, she left it alone.

Zuko wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. His head rested on her chest. Makaira played with his long hair. "Stay with me tonight." He said. Makaira was a little hesitant.

"Yes, I will." Even though she couldn't see it, she could tell that he was smiling. The pair felt comfort in each other's arms.
