Five weeks before the incident, Giyuu finally had time to go back home.
The place smelled of burnt wood and wisteria all around, her shoulders relaxed at the sight of her parents and little siblings.

"It will soon be time no?" Kie said, her hands over the pot of boiling water.

"Will you go watch over them?" The sounds of the sweeping stopped as Giyuu laid there in silence.

"No." Giyuu breathed out before continuing her chores again, "They won't die, the strongest demon is gone."

They are all safe.

Her stomach, however, had a knot tied to it.

_______

"We are doomed aren't we?" Shinobu said, taking out another one of the poisons inside her bag. Thankfully, due to the wooden vase that Kanae had advised her to use, only a few were shattered.

Her purple eyes widened as she saw an arm coming towards her. With what little time she had left, Shinobu moved out of the way, her feet grazing the flesh, making the hairs of her arms rise.

With her feet on the ground, she took a deep breath, and swung the tip of her blade to pierce instantly through the arm. The feeling wasn't as hard as she thought it would be, the first comparison that came to mind was the texture of leather.

She smirked, backing away from the arm that was already being paralyzed due to the poison. As the arm melted, she took out another flask to taint the tip of her sword with it, making sure to apply honey in it too so that it would stick to the blade.

Sabito-San!
Her eyes set themselves upon the boy that was starting to fight the demon with ease.

Sabito was a natural at dealing with demon's sizes that were mutated. Thanks to his unusual movements that mimicked more of a fox and a hare, the demon felt as though he was fighting an animal instead of a human.

His movements often held out more power than the normal water breath users from before. Shinobu had an idea now.

He's running all around me… waiting for a weakness huh?

The demon's head kept his eyes peeled on the boy.

An opening! Sabito's eyes widened. Suddenly stopping on a branch and shifting all of his momentum to the center where the demon was.

Heheehe.
A hand came out from below.

Sabito was already in mid air, his body wasn't able to move. There was not a single branch that he could hold on to. With that in mind, he grabbed the sword and swung the blade at it.

"Eight form: Waterfall basin!"

'SLICE'

Sharp, cold and long enough to drive through the entire thing without much effort.

The ground trembled. Sabito moved away to the trees again. His eyes still peered over to find another spot to attack him in.

The demon began to mock him, chuckling under his breath as he saw just how much of a coward the boy was. To think they had told him to deal with these kids, they were all a rotten annoyance to the core.

"Dance of the bee sting: True flutter!"

A chill ran down his spine as he turned around fast enough to catch the small girl pierce his eyeball with the sword.

The demon shrieked out in pain.

"Now!"

Sabito raced up to the highest tree. Reaching there, he positioned himself for a moment until Shinobu had finished her array of stabs and finally took out her blade from the eyeball.
