Pat had a dead alligator by her desk. Her students were gazing at the dead reptile. They could hardly focus on their school work, let alone study for their English test.
"Class, please focus on your work," said Pat.
"Why is there a dead alligator here?" asked Milly.
"Just because," replied Pat.
"How did he die?" asked Johnny.
"How am I supposed to know? Try to get some work done, before lunchtime."
Her students paid the dead alligator no attention, and the bell rang. It was now time for lunch. Meatloaf, and mashed potatoes were on the menu. Pat got her tray of food, along with a carton of milk, and ate in the teacher's lounge, with the other staff.
