Contracts were very testy things. Before the countless expositions and the battle of all for one, they had been a mere legend. Not much was known other than those seeking them out were rarely seen again, and if so they were... different, so to say.
Of course, knowing this, a young aspiring hero, all might, decided he wanted to find out what they were. He spent months searching high and low for any sort of information, and then years trying to discover how to form one. In the end the answer was much simpler than he expected, and so he set off.
When he arrived at the alter, a cobble stone structure in the middle of the magic Forrest, seemingly untouched by time, to say he was suspicious was an understatement. All of this wonder and rumored to be an infinite source of power, only to be kept here.
He entered with caution.
It all felt like a blur to him afterwards. Vague memories of the most beautiful women her had ever seen, ink made of the most brilliant gold, and a blinding white surrounding Hume constantly.
For a while he just sat there, on the cobblestone floor, feeling how it was cool to the touch, pressing against his entire body. The only difference was his immense pain in his chest. Was breathing always this difficult?
Finally he sat up, not believing himself when he suddenly coughed up blood. He looked at his chest only to find a giant red scar that had not been there previously.
He stumbled out of the temple as quickly as possible and somehow made it out of the Forrest, only to be met with stares of aw.
He had never once been recognized for who he is, but now all of the sudden everyone knew his name, they looked at him like he had saved the world, but last time he checked he hadn't?
Almight was just an average wannabe hero, and while it was his dream to be popular like this, he begged the question why? Why now was he suddenly recognized, he hadn't done anything particularly extraordinary in the public light.
Confused and freaked out, he returned to his house. Sitting on his bed to take a moment to breathe, he noticed a rolled up piece of parchment tucked into his waistband. He took it out and unrolled it with care, it was slightly creased and worn but he saw the undeniably recognizable gold ink on the page, scribbled out were promises of being able to save the world. It came flooding back to him.
"So you wish for the ability to save the world?"
The goddess reaffirmed to him before  producing the contract paper.
"Just the opportunity my goddess, that's all I ask for, I just want to be a renowned hero."
She paused for a moment before agreeing.

Before him was the contract, promising all of his dreams, before he suddenly became conscious of what he was doing. Contracts were dangerous, and if the text was even slightly destroyed he would be done for.
"Hold on, I want to add one more thing"
"Oh?"
He thought very hard about it, he knew the more he asked for, the higher the consequences, but this was such a brilliant move on his part. So he thought.
"I would like to add that anyone or anything with evil in their heart cannot destroy my contract."
The goddess smiled at him, an all knowing smirk, and with the snap of her finger it was added to the text. He signed without a second thought.
"Then it is done, you are going to become a renowned hero, known throughout the land for your heroic deeds, and there will even be the opportunity for you to save the world. As well, your contract being invincible to the forces of evil."
She paused to look at his face, so full of hope, so excited. But nothing comes without consequences.
"But in return I will have to ask for quite a lot for just so you know. You won't be able to be a hero forever. You will wake up and you will have lost something, history will know it from a great battle, but you will know what truest happen. I think you'll find that what you asked for will have its own consequences."

He understands now.

For the first few months, he basked in the glory, transforming into a the hero he always wanted to, figuratively and literally. He placed his contract back in the magical Forrest, where only the most evil of evil resided, for safe keeping. Soon he fell into a deep sadness, maybe it was because of his injuries, maybe because of his guilt for cheating his way to the top, maybe because he felt as if he lied to the world.
But late into his career, all for one appeared once again.
His entire life revolves around his fight, his honor, his glory. He had been anticipating and daydreaming for it his entire existence.
And he failed.
For years and years he tried to regain his strength and fight him, but it was hopeless.
He grew resentful of first the goddess, then himself. He began to train even more, pushing his body and mind into overdrive, so the next time he got his opportunity, he wouldn't fail.
When he overheard the exhibition outside, their purpose to bring as much information that they could find about the magical Forrest back to the palace, he decided it was time.
He put out his fire, and watched them from afar, worried that his smoke would alert them, but the must have not noticed.
All might went back into the Forrest to find All for one, but he had miscalculated. All for one was at the castle.

Failing once again, he lied down, in the middle of the Forrest.

He couldn't tell how long it had been until he felt a white hot pain overtake him. His body was disintegrating infront of him.

He heard a scream, but he couldn't even tell if it was his own.
