He was still hurt and wasnt over his brothers death. Cried himself to sleep some nights, for he had no shoulder to cry on.
He knew better than to go to his father, he'd just get yelled at, or even hit.
He needed nothing more than his best friend since birth.
When Y/n heard what had happen to Senjuro's brother, she cried herself. She knew she had to be there as emotional support for Senjuro.
The father... not so much. He can stay by himself.

Y/n stood front of the Rengoku residence with a sad smile on her face. Little faint sweeping could be heard near by.
"Senjuro!" she called out and ran towards her best friend.
Senjuro turned his head and dropped the broom and opened his arms for a hug. He held her tightly and hid his face in her shoulder.
"Im sorry.. i heard what happened and came as quickly as possible." Y/n said while caressing Senjuro's back.
"D-Do you wanna come inside?" he asked. "Ill go prepare some tea."
And before Y/n could say anything, Senjuro ran off into the house to prepare the tea as he said.

4 Hours had past, Y/n and Senjuro was talking their hearts out. Talking about Kyojuro and laughing at their memories together.
"This girl will make a fine wife for you, Senjuro!" Kyojuro yelled enthusiastically while looking at Y/n.
It felt like he was staring into her soul with those big eyes.. and he didnt even blink once.
"No! Brother, we're j-just friends!" Senjuro defended with a red face.
"If that was true, your face wouldn't be red like that! You like her! Go on, propose to her!"
"Uh," Y/n stood there with a derpy face watching the two brothers go back and forth. More like Senjuro begging for his brother to stop teasing him.
"Your brother did everything in his power to get us together. It was so embarrassing.." Y/n laughed.
"Mm." Senjuro nodded with a small smile. His hand balled into a fist as he panicked. He couldn't decide. He didnt know what to do.
He tried to remember what he and his brother talked about.
"If there is a day when i am not here to guide you, brother, i want you to take the path you feel is right."
"Hey, Y/n. I... I like you. I, uh, guess Kyo was right."
Silence.
Y/n didnt say anything. She couldn't say anything. All she could do was smile to herself.
"Y/n please say something."
She couldn't. If she did, she'd probably ruin the moment, or make things awkward.
"Im sorry.. its okay if you dont feel the same." Senjuro sighed. He knew it. But it just slipped out his mouth.
Y/n probably wanted a strong partner, and not some weakling who couldn't get his blade to switch when he wields it.
Finally snapping out of his daydream, he felt something warm against his cheek.
"There's somewhere i wanna take you tomorrow. And dont ask cause its a secret." Y/n said. "I'll come back here tomorrow around 5."
She kissed Senjuro's nose and he stood up after her. "Wait- i'll walk you out."
They stood at the entrance of the gates, looking up at the sky. It was a little awkward because it felt like there was something both of them had to do.
"S-So.. goodnight?" Senjuro awkwardly asked.
Y/n kissed Senjuro's cheek once more and walked off. "Goodnight indeed."

Years had past by since Y/n and Senjuro had been together.
When they both became of age, they wanted to wed.
Both Senjuro and Y/n sat in front of Shinjuro. Their hearts were pounding. Afraid. Scared. Terrified of what Shinjuro might say.
"Father, Y/n and I have become of age. And.. we'd like to wed. With your blessing, of course." Senjuro spoke with his hand clenched.
"No." his father slurred and drank more of his alcoholic drink.
"No..? B-But why not?"
"I said so. Your not. *Hic* Plain and simple. N-Now get.. out."

"Its probably because of me." Y/n sighed. "Im not from here.."
Senjuro grabbed Y/n's hand and stopped her from walking. "Dont say things like that! I promise, we'll get married one day. All i ask.. is that you please wait for me."
"Ill wait as long as it takes."
