Jaewon and Jeongguk walk Jimin and his dad to their car when his father finally decides to leave. Jimin stands outside the car, waiting for his dad to finish talking so that he can unlock the doors and Jeongguk stands beside him, staring at the couple."My dad likes your dad." He says as if it isn't obvious. His voice holds a but of cheerfulness to it.
Jimin fights the urge to scoff. "I know." He mutters instead.
"My dad is so cute," the younger boy says. "He stays up at night on the phone with your dad. I think they'll be a nice couple, y'know, because they're old and they're both dads? And my dad is an alpha and yours is an omega so maybe they can have a baby if your dad can still reproduce. I always wanted a sibling. Oh, what if they get married? That would mean that we would be brothers! That'd be so cool, we can stay up all night and watch movies and we can talk about our crushes! There's this boy named Taehyung who's really hot-"
"I don't want any of that to happen." Jimin nearly growls out bitterly, cutting the boy off. Jeongguk's smile falls from his face.
"But why, hyung? My dad makes your dad happy. Just look at how they smile at each other-"
Jimin is finally fed up. "I said I don't want that to happen!" He yells, catching the attention of the older men and the other people in the parking lot.
Jeongguk flinches and steps back a bit. His face turns pink with embarrassment and he ducks his head submissively. "S-Sorry, hyung. I-I didn't mean to make you mad."
"I think we should go," Jisung says. "It was nice seeing you, you too Jeongguk." And he doesn't give them a chance to say anything more as he gets into the car and starts it.
He doesn't say a thing for the whole ride. Jimin sits in anger in the passenger seat. It's when they get home do they actually talk.
"Really, Jimin? You just had to embarrass me in front of my boss by throwing a tantrum?!" Jisung can't stop himself from raising his voice. He feels incredibly ashamed right now.
"You mean your boyfriend? I don't care about him." The teen scoffs, removing his shoes and placing them on the shoe rack. His dad stands in front of him with his arms over his chest.
"Jimin, seriously, what has gotten into you? You've been so rude lately. Are you being bullied at school-?"
"It's the fact that you're moving on so quickly!" He shouts, throwing off his beanie and glaring at his dad. "I refuse to let you replace her!"
"I'm not replacing her-!"
"Then why are you dating him?!"
His father rubs at his face tiredly. "Because I like him and I deserve to be happy, Jimin. Yes, I lost my wife and I'll never get over her or replace her, but I can't mourn her forever. I have to move on at some point. I'm just trying to be happier."
Jimin growls at the response. He doesn't like that at all. "What about my happiness?! I can't watch you be with someone else! To me, you only belong with mom! If she were here-" his voice cracks. He stops his sentence and takes a deep breath.
Jisung's eyes soften. "I know it isn't easy. I'm not asking you to accept him, Jimin. I just want you to talk to me. What's going on?"
"Nothing is going on." He growls again. "I'm fine."
Yes, he's fine with the fact that he has no friends and hasn't had any throughout all his high school years. He's absolutely fine with the fact that a lot of his classmates either don't know he exists or hates him. He hates that he struggles to communicate with others and that he comes off as rude when he doesn't mean to. He couldn't make a friend even if he wanted to because no one would like him. He's weird and an outcast and he pushes people away. He hates people but he hates being alone and that's all he's ever felt since his mother passed. His dad rarely even spends time with him anymore.
"You don't even care about me anymore," he says in an attempt to sound agitated but he ends up sounding hurt. "We used to be so close and now you skip dinner just to hang out with your boyfriend."
Instead of getting upset at Jimin, Jisung listens to his son. Recently, he has been at work more often and he didn't think it was that big of a deal but now he sees just hos it has affect his son. Jimin acts out for attention, he always has since he was younger and usually, his mother fell for it. He used to be very close with his dad. They told each other everything and now they barely talk.
"I'm sorry," he mutters out. "I didn't mean to neglect you, Jimin."
Jimin finds himself becoming emotional. Before he can actually cry, he rushes up the stairs and to his room. He made sure to slam the door and he sits on his bed, groaning into his hands as tears prick his eyes.
It's hard. He doesn't want to always push people away and now he feels guilty for being rude to Jeongguk who only was positive. He completely ruined a chance at a possible friendship because of his personal matters. His therapist is trying to help him with socializing but whenever he tries to socialize, things always go wrong.
He doesn't allow any more tears to falls before he wipes his face. Maybe he shouldn't have been that rude to Yoongi either. The alpha was clearly just being friendly and he took it negatively. Jimin never reflects his choices before he makes them, he always acts on impulse and then regrets it later.
Maybe tomorrow he'll apologize to Jeongguk. That's if the boy doesn't hate him already. He didn't mean to make him cry but the only thing he can do now is make things right. Perhaps, if he sees Yoongi again, he'd apologize to him as well.
