New Beginnings

I look over at my clock to see it's 6:30 and I need to get up for school now. So I get out of bed and head towards my closet. "Hmm what should I wear today" I ask myself as I look through my closet. I then pick out a white dress shirt, over that, I put on a red vest and [ut some black pants on. I put a red hat on, on the red hat, there is a black bad over it. I then put some brown knee-high boots on, and walk over to my dresser, and grab the blue ribbon ash gave me, and tie it to the front of my shirt. I then open my door and head downstairs. "So mom what's for breakfast"

"French toast, is that good" my mom asks?

"Sure, that sounds great," I say as I sit down at the table.

"So do you know who you have for teachers yet," my mom asks?

"No, I have my schedule, but I Haven't really looked at it," I say as I wonder who's going to be in my classes.

"Here you go" my mom says as she puts a plate of steamy french toast with butter and syrup in front of me.

"Thanks mom" I say as I grab my fork and knife and start eating.

"Have a good day at school" my mom says as she waves goodbye to men as I walk down the sidewalk.

"Bye mom" I say as I continue walking to the bus stop.

"Serena waits up '' I hear someone say as I see Dawn chasing after me.

"Oh hey Dawn" I say as I stop to wait for her.

"So Serena, I like the haircut" she says as she looks at my shoulder-length hair.

"Thanks Dawn" I say with a smile on my face.

"What's up girls" Gary says as he and Lillie appear in front of us.

"Hey guys, how was your summer" I ask?

"Pretty good" Gary says.

"Yeah it was good, especially when we would all hang out together" Lillie says as she kisses Gary.

"Yeah our hangouts were fun, but not as fun since ash left" I say.

"Well, your right, but you can't keep thinking about him, he hasn't responded to any of our texts since he left, I think he's trying to forget about us" dawn says.

"Ash would never, Gary has he texted you" I ask in hopes he has?

"Nope, haven't heard anything from him" Gary says.

"So, whos in whos classes" Kenny says as we approach the group.

"Well, im in ms. Jones class first period" Clemont says.

"Oh I am too" Gary says as he and Clemont high-five.

"Anyone have ms. Erika second period" I ask?

"I do" Dawn says.

"I do too" Misty and May both say. Just then, the bell rings, and we all split off and head to class.

"So Serena, it seems we have first period together with Professor Rowan" Zac says as he walks up behind me.

"Oh hi Zac, you have his class too" I ask as I put my schedule down?

"Yeah I do, wanna walk there together" he asks putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Sure" I say smiling.

Once we get to class, I find an empty seat and sit down in, i then see Zac sit next to me. I then see an African American girl, sit on the other side of me.
