The year started off intense, when you realise that your godfather is after your twin brother. To capture Harry for You-Know-Who, or to kill him, Wilbur didn't have the stomach to think about all of it.
Harry didn't want his brother to worry, so he was glad that Wilbur was still doing what he always does.
Because frankly, Wilbur's head is all about Hermione Granger once more. Not knowing that she would slowly be thinking and seeing the younger Potter boy the same way he does with her.
The year was just starting, and so will their slow becoming.
