For our American Culture final exam we literally just finished reading a book about how an immigrant family was kept down in a white society and failed to obtain the American Dream before being deported, and then we had to annotate a passage about the American Dream that was mostly just praising America and the idea of the American Dream and said nothing of what that means in actual modern America.
This class really went and spent so much time holding America accountable for all the racist shit we did in the past, and then it said nothing about our struggles NOW with class and capitalism, especially when it becomes entwined with race issues, even though it was relevant, just looking dead at the issues presented and brushing off what the actual problems were in order to suck America's dick.
All while being taught by a woman who just doesn't know how to rebut any politics that aren't pro-America.
How ironic that this class is called "American Culture", because it's shown itself to be a display of the worst of what actual American culture is.
God, I am glad I don't have this class next semester.
