“Mummyyyyyy!!!!” Siddharth entered the living area of his apartment, screaming like a child. “Maaaaaaa!!”

Rita Maa rushed out of the kitchen, frowning at her son. “Kya hua? Cheekh kyu raha hai?” She asked, slightly irritated.

Siddharth pouted. Rita Maa smiled at her son's expression. Shehnaaz entered the room carrying a bag.

"Shehnaaz.." Rita Maa exclaimed. "Tujhe finally time mila ghar aane ka."

Siddharth took the bag from her. "Don't give her any credit, Mein kheench ke laaya hoon. She'll be staying for the weekend."

Rita Maa frowned. "Tu isske paas tha?"

Siddharth nodded. "Shoot Shehnaaz ke ghar ke paas thi, jaldi khatam ho gayi toh mann kiya mil aauin."

His mother smiled. "Chal meri gudiya, aaja baith. Mein dinner laga rahi hoon."

Shehnaaz was about to say something, when Siddharth squeezed her hand gently, in a manner of warning.

Shehnaaz looked back at her fiance with a puppy face. Siddharth kissed her cheek.

"Maa I'm going to freshen up. Isko aaj kitchen mein matt ghusne dena." Siddharth said, pointing to Shehnaaz.

Rita Maa looked surprised. "Kyon?"

"Kyunki aapki bahu ko pichle ek hafte se saans lene ki bhi fursat nahi mili hai. Aaj iska off hai." Siddharth replied, as he walked towards his room.

"He's exaggerating."

"I'm not exaggerating Maa. Isko bolo chup-chaap couch pe baithe aur koi movie choose kare." Siddharth shouted from inside the room.

Rita Maa laughed. "Chal aaja, pati ki baat maan-ni chahiye kabhi-kabhi."

Shehnaaz pouted while the older woman led her to the couch.

"Meri gudiyaa." Rita Maa smiled at her and kissed her forehead. "Mujhe do minute de. Abhi aayi."

Shehnaaz nodded and fiddled with the TV remote, looking for a movie to watch as instructed by Siddharth.

A few minutes later, Siddharth came out of his room and went straight to the couch where his grumpy bird was sitting with a big, angry and adorable pout on her face.

Siddharth smiled softly and knelt in front of her. "Mera baby gussa hai?"

Shehnaaz shook her head.

"Jhoothi."

"Har baar toh nahi ho sakta na aise Siddharth." Shehnaaz reasoned.

Siddharth stood up from the floor and sat next to her on the couch.

"Kyon nahi ho sakta. Yeh tumhaara ghar nahi hai? mein tumhaara hone waala pati nahi hoon? hoon na?" Siddharth asked rhetorically.

Shehnaaz nodded as a deep red blush crept upon her cheeks.

"Toh tum mujhe kabhi bhi phone kar sakti ho. Yaahan kabhi bhi aa sakti ho. Meri Maa ka rishta tumse mere through thodi hai, birdie. Yeh rishta aur yeh bond toh hum dono ke rishte se bahot pehle ka hai. Tum unki beti pehle ho aur meri mangetar baad mein. Tum hi ne kahaa tha na, ki tumhe Maa mil gayi hai? Maa se pamper hone ka haq harr bacche ka hota hai. Tumhaara ghar hai yeh, tum thak kar aaogi toh tumhaare paas ek maa ki god hai, sar rakh ke sone ke liye. Ek dost hai, apne khadoos director ki complaint karne ke liye. Meri duniyaa bahot choti hai, meri family pe shuru hokar wahaan par hi khatam ho jaati hai. Par iss duniya ka ek bahot important hissa tum bhi ho. Jo mera hai, woh mujhse kaheen zyaada tumhaara hai!" Siddharth said softly.
