And yet you keep showing up
In different people
And at different times
Although the smile might not be the same
And although the people have different names
I always find you
And I want it so badly to stop
My worst nightmare
Is broken into pieces
Dragged on into oblivion
He leaves deep marks
He doesn't listen when I say to stop
He makes me regret ever feeling a thing
And yet all that he could think about was a ring
He tries too hard
And he mirrors my moves
And the entire time I can only think about you
Because this damage you caused
Is irreversible
No pills, or drinks, or time can change that
I look at this next set of eyes so blue
And yet the ocean in front of me only reminds me of you
Swallows me whole
And never stops to think
About how even though I'm trying
It won't ever be you that I can keep
So I'll let him go
And move on to the next
And I know that he too will hold that blade to my neck
