Haechan left for home around 4pm because watching Jisung bury his face in books was boring to him. He agreed to meet him at the school stadium around 5:30 since they promised they would attend the next home game. Jaemin was certainly more good than rumored. Jisung was actually surprised at his athleticism, sure he watched him run and stuff before but something about him shooting hoops and playing defensively was mesmerizing. He had to admit that the entire team was amazing, including Jeno.

❡ The game finished around 7 and Jaemin stayed behind to shower and change. He quickly phoned his sister to tell her he'd be late before heading to the school floors.

After grabbing his school bag be began to close the door to his locker and cursed out loud at the figure standing beside him, "Oh sh-"

"Hi sunbae!"

Jisung tried to cut him off before he could curse. a beautiful face like that shouldn't have such a potty mouth, he thought.

Jaemin blew air from his lips which caused his bang to fly upwards for a second. "You scared me". he composed himself after finally jamming the door shut. For some reason he never asked for a functional locker.  "I thought you were here for an autograph or something."

"Such a celebrity." Jisung joked. Truthfully he was a bit starstruck after seeing his performance tonight too. The levels to his admiration seemed never ending. Now he felt nervous like the first time they met.

"Ehh.." Jaemin muttered. He didn't seem to care that he was popular at all. In fact it made him even more popular because he was so nonchalant about it all. "Anyways, what are you doing here so late?"

Jisung wrinkled his nose. "Unfortunately... my dad wants me to study even though there's no upcoming tests."

Jaemin made a face of understanding. "Well I shouldn't hold you." He then sifted through the planner in his left hand, attempting to find a page he was looking for.

"-That's okay." Jisung said quickly as If he desperately wanted to stay in his company, "I actually finished studying earlier so that I wouldn't miss your game."

"Wow, thanks." Jaemin said appreciatively. "So how'd we do?"

Jisung sneered at him as if the question was rhetorical, his unbelieving facial expression made Jaemin laugh. He felt a bit cocky knowing that he was being watched earlier.

"You guys are really good. Do you plan to play in college?"

Jaemin shrugged. After finding the page he was looking for he sent a quick email before throwing his things into his briefcase and the strap over his shoulder. "I'm not sure..." he continued while heading for the front door. "guess I'll decide tonight."

That's when Jisung noticed he was dressed too formally just to go home.  "Jaemin... where are you headed?"

Jae also checked himself out, "ahh, my clothes...I have a dinner meeting soon." They were now outside on the sidewalk.

"oh then..." Jisung said while stopping at the street corner. " I think I should head home..."

Jaemin looked at him suspiciously, "why did you come find me?"

"to ask you a question." Jisung said while looking down at his feet.

"okay?"

"I want to know...if we would stay friends after tutoring."

Jaemin looked at him suspiciously, "you came to ask me if..."

He then burst out laughing. The repetitive question was now a joke to him. He started to walk across the street on his own. Behind them the school lit up so brightly that it gave the two a spotlight.

"Even if I said regrettable things..." Jisung said quietly where he couldn't be heard.

Jae stopped in the middle of the street and calculated that he wouldn't be able to continue across in time. "Ahh," he said with a playful kick to the ground. "I missed the light." he met Ji back on the sidewalk. The little bugs that play under street lights caught their attention for some reason and after a long silence Jaemin commented playfully, "Wanna tag along?"

Jisung stood right under the pedestrian light. "Huh?"

"I'm inviting' ya." He then glared at him up and down. "It's okay that you're wearing your school uniform.

That's not it... Jisung thought in his head.

Jaemin began to approach him closely, "Don't worry..." Jisung could feel the cool draft coming from his mouth, it made him stand there stifly against the pole as possible. "You'll be my good luck charm."

A nearby car bustled to get through the yellow light in time and the moment it turned green, Jisung felt his hand clutched and body dragged across the street. He didn't challenge it, rather than jaemin running through his mind, he could be with him in the moment instead.

When they arrived, Jisung looked around and immediately felt he wasn't special enough to be there. The host directed them to the center of the restaurant where they spotted a fit man who appeared to be in his mid 30's.

Jaemin stopped before they reached the table to whisper in Ji's ear. "Just follow everything I do." His calming smile made Jisung feel assured. They walked to the man to greet him.

"Oh, I hope you don't mind." Jaemin said charmingly, "I brought my friend along." He was formal but comfortable, which implied he'd met this scout a few times before.

The man waved his hand slightly, as he didn't seem concerned at all about adding a plus one to the bill. He even remarked that the schoolboys were probably hungry and should help themselves to the menu.

The younger followed his peer as directed, but felt so out of his element. He never had a waiter help him sit in a chair before nor did he see so many utensils on a dinner table before. He watched Jaemin as if he was watching a tv. But he only ordered a soup because he felt it was fancy enough. Plus he couldn't pronounce anything else on the menu.

After an hour of chatting, the man finally rose to give Jaemin a handshake before calling for valet. They both met him outside and gave their thanks for dinner before sending him off in his un-fancy car. For someone with taste he sure rides a regular car, Jisung thought. He was humble just like Chenle's parents.

The silence of the street returned, amid the quiet conversation from the couple approaching the building. Jisung couldn't help but feel conscious about his uniform still. He started to ask how he was allowed in despite the dress code but a loud yawn interrupted him. He looked to his side to see Jaemin stretching his arms wide over his head,

"Ahh that went well."
