Jisung noticed the tall handsome boy beside Jaemin right away.

He was the quiet and secretive type, one who kept to his inner circle but still maintained friendliness to everyone. He was popular, but not envied. Well maybe he had one envier...Jisung refused to acknowledge it at first but he was becoming heavy hearted. Everyone seemed to fight for that position but he held onto it with ease. Jisung didn't hate him, he just wanted what he had.

It was about 3:30pm, the last bus was soon to come but instead Jisung stood by his locker, watching as the basketball team gathered. His locker had the best view of the courts and he entertained the idea of charging people for this spectator spot. As some time passed, he noticed that someone was missing.

Suddenly he heard footsteps coming down the staircase behind him. At the end of the hall, he spotted the two lost boys making their way to ground level. Jisung stared intently at the two, seeing if they would touch or hold hands or something, but instead they both paused and he could hear their conversation come to a halt. He wasn't sure what for and began pretending that he was searching for something in his locker. Within the next ten seconds he could sense someone behind him and turned around so abruptly that the textbook in his hands fell to the floor.

Jaemin reached down and grabbed the book. He then brushed the cover as if he saw some microscope debris. Jisung bowed and wanted to run but because they'd already been introduced, he found the courage to stand still.

"Anatomy?" his crush questioned..."I think this is one of our study subjects."

Jisung didn't bother to respond outloud. He was motionless. In his head he agreed, Yup. I suck at human anatomy and need you as my tutor... But his eyes were focusing on the figure in the background. He searched for the guy's expression, but couldn't make one out. He didn't seem impatient or worried. He just watched there in the background.

Again like the first time they met, they just stood there for an unknown amount of time. Jaemin kept a faded smile on his face and somehow their quietness was comfortable.

Then a hand appeared on Jaemin's shoulder. There was the boy who seemingly floated over with a large smile on his face. He didn't smile with his teeth, just with his lips. It was like the friendliness of an elderly neighbor.

They discussed something briefly in what seemed like a whisper and then the boy's dark pupils shot up to observe Jisung.

In the quiet hallway his words echoed, "Oh! It's you."

Jisung's eyes widened, "Huh?"

With that same friendly smile he dropped his hand from Jaemin's shoulder and reached it out in front of him. His voice was naturally energetic,

"Jaemin has told me about you...

I'm Jeno."

He swayed his head a little to the side so his introduction was very charming. Jisung couldn't help but be enthralled by his eyes. His hand rose to meet him even if he fought against it in his head. "I'm this stud's...best friend. Everyone calls me J. And no it doesn't stand for jock."

He and Jaemin made eye contact as Jae's way of saying  'you're not so funny'. Jeno laughed nervously.

Jisung shook off his silence. "Oh... I'm Jisung."

The boy nodded to him in response. He nodded in a way a jock does when checking someone out but it wasn't intimidating. "Jisung... that's a pretty name." Again Jaemin made an expression and Jeno again laughed it off.

There was an opening for Jisung to speak and he decided to...

"oh uh, how do you know me?" he tried not to sound too inquisitive or on edge.

"You're Haechan's friend. He and I are pals."

Jisung just nodded, he knew Jaemin telling him anything more was hoping for too much. Plus he hadn't considered the fact that he knew him through Haechan. He barely noticed that the two were friends. Shows how much he pays attention. The only time Jeno became relevant was when Jaemin entered the story. Had he became his friend earlier he would have more knowledge of the two's relationship.

He felt a little intimidated being in their presence and before he could do or say something stupid Jaemin finished the conversation. "It's getting a bit dark..." he leaned a little beside Jisung's body to view the field below. "And we have to get going...i hope you didn't miss the last bus?" He sounded so sweet and interested in little ol' Jisung.

Jisung swung his head around, hoping his view of the field wasn't exposing him as some creep.

"Oh." He checked his watch to see the time was 4:03 pm. He indeed just missed the last bus but lied. "I think i'll make it if i leave now.." he closed the locker behind him.

Jeno had already disappeared to the end of the hallway just that quick. "Let's go Jay," —the way he pronounced the boy's nickname was more with a long Y rather than an E.

"Oh and nice meeting you Jisung!" he called. Jisung waved at him. He felt a bit stupid for being so mean to him earlier when he was such a nice person.

Jaemin started to catch up but turned back around to re-approach Jisung. "Here, you can borrow my card. I obviously don't use it."

Jisung rejected after noticing that it was a train pass, "oh no, i don't think i can-"

Jaemin softly placed it into his hands,"No worries, You can return it next week when we meet." he smiled before heading off. Just like that he disappeared onto the field below. Jisung looked at the card and felt his face tingling with joy.

After a twelve- minute walk, he finally reached the metro. The cool breeze made him shiver and while he could hear the approaching train below, he took a moment to look at the darkening sky.

Thanks Jaemin... he smiled. He would have otherwise had a long walk home.

Jaemin's brown hair bounced as he began his warm up. After finishing he met with Jeno and who helped him stretch.

"He seems shy," J joked. It was obvious he was speaking of the junior whom they just met.

Jaemin laughed but he wasn't convinced he actually was. He found Jisung's ability to hide what he was thinking fascinating. Simply because it only worked on others.

is it love or some friendly companionship..

I'll proudly be a third wheel for some time

But eventually my burning heart will yearn for more.

and i'll break up something that seems so perfect
