Jisung's breathing exercises were useless. The second he saw Jaemin's figure in the empty room his heart began to ramp up again.
The floor made a creaking sound which caused Jaemin to turn around quickly to see who was at the entrance. The minute he saw Jisung he laughed because he looked awfully stiff standing there with his hands tightened around his bag straps. "Come over, I don't bite."
Jisung approached slowly. No matter how many times he saw the boy, he still became rushed with butterflies. "H-hi Jaemin."
Jaemin began walking to the center of the room where four desks were arranged into a square. "So how's it going?" Even though his voice was monotone, it had a hint of excitement which made Jisung feel happy. He rushed to sit next to him and threw his bag on the floor.
"Great now----I mean, It's going well." The smirk on Jaemin's face in response was likely a figment of Jisung's imagination so he brushed it off.
"And how was your weekend?" he continued while simultaneously arranging the study materials.Jisung's mind went blank and he forgot how to answer. Had he known his crush would actually ask something like that he would have prepared false answers to make himself seem more interesting. "Alright. I was...anxious to get back."
"Really?" Jaemin questioned, his voice had a hint of interest. "So you like school?" His eyes were so calm that Jisung felt embarrassed to stare.
So he thought, only because I get to see you...up close. Jisung immediately felt frisky for the thoughts in his head. "Most of the time." he muttered."Well, I promise I won't be too hard on you." he flashed a smile and invited Jisung to look through the agenda
Jisung had a nervous smile, thinking inappropriately that he should pretend to be stupid so that jaemin could stay his tutor. He was also happy their seats were close again so he could deliberately rub elbows.
❡ During the session, Jisung couldn't help but notice Jaemin's calm aroma of deep vanilla and it intoxicated him. He wanted to reach over and grip him up, but that would be inappropriate. So instead, like a vampire he contained his excitement. Now that he captured his crush's scent so that he could harbor it simply from his memory and think of him.
Jisung watched as Jaemin spoke as if he was being lectured rather than tutored. He forcibly made a note to look at the textbook so that it wouldn't be obvious he wasn't paying attention. Whenever Jaemin would move to the whiteboard to explain something in detail, Jisung would follow his hand movements carefully. And because his bangs were so long, whenever he would look at the notebook to copy a note to the board, they would block his view and he would delicately brush them aside. The action reminded him of the first day they met. His bangs were so troublesome yet he kept them. Jisung wondered if he tried to hide from the world like he did. There was no point though, he thought to himself. Everyone can still see your pretty face...

"Well! That wraps up our first session."
Jisung blinked himself out of his daydream to hear Jaemin's call and checked the clock on the wall to see it was already 5pm. He could be tutored all day long if he knew it would be this interesting. If Jaemin was in the textbook, perhaps he would become an anatomist. Studying only the species of Na Jaemin...
Jaemin reached behind him to grab a notebook from his bag, in it were handwritten notes from the first three chapters of the book which would be on Jisung's quiz the following Monday. Jisung took a moment to admire his concise and neat handwriting. They looked so perfect he barely wanted to use them. He considered stopping by the computer room to laminate them. "Wow thanks." he said with a growing smile.
Jaemin shook his head, refusing to be thanked for an insignificant thing.
"By the way, if you pass the next few quizzes, you will be able to bring up your average. And I think you'll be just fine."
"That's good to hear..." Jisung replied. Even if he felt his dad had no patience, he realized that without a tutor now, he wasn't going to be able to pick it up on his own; he started to feel a bit grateful and decided not to be so much of a brat. "I'll make sure i study your notes."
He began to pack up but realized that Jaemin stayed seated. Awkwardly he asked if he was headed out but Jaemin stated he was waiting for Jeno.
He began packing slower. "Ahh, I see."
Jaemin looked up from the books after sensing Jisung's unspoken words. "But i can walk you to the bus stop-"
"Oh no, it's okay." Truthfully he didn't want to run into Jeno. Just being around would bring him anxiety and he'd be too nervous to overhear something that'll discourage him. He wished he was more confident around the two.
Jaemin hesitated but he accepted the answer, "Okay...well I'll see you next Wednesday... Oh and don't forget to let me know how you did on your quiz."
Jaemin stood and reached out his hand for a goodbye shake. Again, Jisung jumped at the chance to hold his hand. And now he had a reason to pass, so that he could be the first to run and tell him.
