You have friends?

A/N: its the way I accidentally deleted this and had to rewrite it...

Ten minutes passed. 

Then fifteen minutes.

When it had almost been twenty minutes since Wanda left y/n grew impatient. She started to second guess her decision to let Wanda come with her. 

"Damn it" she threw the rock she was playing with across the road and stood up. After glancing back into the direction Wanda should be coming from and seeing nothing y/n deciding that she was no longer waiting. She started to walk along the side of the road kicking random rocks as she went. she would be lying to herself if she didn't feel guilty for not staying put but her determination to get the helmet from Alabaster before he used it, and some revenge would be a nice touch, was still her top priority. So, after a few minutes of walking she was able to push that guilt away and stay focused. 

As soon as y/n made peace with her decision a car without the headlights turned on pulled up beside her. She was so wrapped up in her own thoughts to hear it coming and jumped at the sound of Wanda's voice calling out to her from the rolled down window.

"Hey beautiful need a ride?" 

Y/n stopped walking and couldn't help but smile. She looked down at her feet to hide her reaction before walking over to the car. she rested her forearm across the top of the window and leaned in. 

"took you long enough"

"I had to be sneaky plus I thought we would want snacks" Wanda motioned to a bunch of random snack items thrown onto the passenger seat. "Also what did I say about staying put"

"Yeah Yeah. I didn't go that far" y/n opened the door of the drivers side and stepped aside. "Come on we have to get going"

"Um, what are you doing?"

"I'm driving. Get out" 

"No you're not. I'm chaperoning remember?"

y/n rolled her eyes. "This is my thing you're just tagging along, ok? Plus you don't even know where we are going."

Wanda leaned back and crossed her arms, not moving out of her seat. "That's why you are going to tell me where we're going"

y/n forcefully shoved her hands in her pockets and glared at Wanda. After staring at each other with annoyed expressions for a few seconds, y/n mumbled "Fine" under her breathe along with some curse words she hoped Wanda didn't hear and pushed the car door closed with her foot. She walked around the front of the car and opened the passenger door. Pushing all the snacks onto the floor she sat down and threw her backpack in the back. 

"What charming company I have tonight" Wanda joked as she started the car and headed down the rode. y/n rolled her eyes in response picking up a bag of chips from the floor and opening it. 

"Head towards New York City. We're going to Manhattan." Y/n shoved some chips in her mouth and twisted around to buckled her seat belt. 

"See that wasn't so hard?" Wanda reached over and pulled some chips for herself out of the bag in y/n lap. 

y/n eyes were glued to Wanda's hand as it reached over towards her for the chips. "Um..yeah... we're going to meet a friend" Wanda smirked when y/n shifted in her seat.

"You have friends?" 

y/n rolled her eyes at Wanda's comment and stare out the side door window. She watched all the trees go by in a blur. They looked like they where dissolving into shadows by how fast Wanda was driving and that it was still very much the middle of the night. Usually y/n is at the top of her game when its night but right now it felt like everything was off balance. She couldn't focus from all the stress and distraction...partly caused by the girl sitting in the drivers seat. But this has also been a problem her whole life. Y/n knows that she is more powerful than she thinks but some days she preforms horribly or some days she's awesome. It's not that she doesn't have control, it's that she never stuck around with anyone to be fully trained. Therefore, her powers can be unreliable or unstable. She has no idea how to reach her full potential. 

Since y/n was lost in thought about her powers she didn't notice she was subconsciously using them. Her eyes had darken but since she was looking out the window Wanda couldn't see that. But when the radio started flickering on and off she realized y/n was doing something. 

"Hey!" Wanda hit y/n arm to get her attention. "Whatever you're doing quit it!"

"Huh?" y/n turned to her all confused then noticed the radio. "Wait why-"

Now that y/n was facing Wanda, she saw that her eyes were dark and slammed on the breaks. 

"What are you doing !?" Y/n yelled when she fell forward catching herself on the dashboard.

"What are you doing?!" Wanda yelled back at her. Y/n eyes began to lighten as she stared back on Wanda still completely confused. As her eyes changed all the technical glitches in the radio subsided. 

"You were messing with the car. Don't lie I saw your eyes" Wanda started driving again now that everything seemed normal. 

"oh..." y/n looked down at her lap embarrassed and pissed at herself. "Sorry. I wasn't doing it on purpose. I zoned out for a bit"

Wanda sighed and relaxed a little. "It's okay" she reached over and squeezed y/n hand. "I've done that with my powers before.  Once I started training a lot with the team it stopped happening"

Y/n frowned when Wanda pulled her hand away and placed it back on the steering wheel. "I've never really had a team to train with..." Y/n trailed off

Wanda couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She knew how it felt to be alone and even if Steve said y/n was the one to abandon others she couldn't;t help but believe there was more to the story. "Is there anything you can practice in the car? I've seen you make shapes with your hands maybe try practicing that without breaking the car."

"yeah I can do that." y/n rubbed her hands together and took a deep breath. 

"Plus it'll be good for you to be warmed up because I am not watching you puke in the middle of a fight"

Y/n let her breath out with a laugh as Wanda said that. "Oh you saw that..yikes not my best."

"No it wasn't" Wanda started to laugh also remembering how she watch y/n fall off the fence.

For the remainder of the car ride y/n made random shapes out of the shadows she produced with her hands. She mainly tried to entertain Wanda. First she made a small bunny that sat in the palm of her hand then let it float towards Wanda through the air up in down like it was hopping. She did the same with birds, butterflies and made flowers. But when she pretended to give the flowers to Wanda they turned into a snake making her scream and swat it away with her red magic. y/n was too busy crying laughing to notice the eye roll Wanda made.  

The sun started to rise as they reached Manhattan. Y/n stopped messing around and began giving Wanda turn by turn directions.

"Take a right here."

"Ok a left here"

"Wait jk that was supposed to be a right also"

"Ok here turn right" y/n pointed out the window towards the road.

"Y/n. You are telling me to turn right but you're pointing to the left idont know which way you want me to go!" Wanda yelled frustrated.

"Oh sorry I'm dyslexic. just turn where I point" 

They finally made the correct turns when y/n gave up in trying to figure out her left and rights.

"Where are we in Manhattan?" Wanda asked

"I think somewhere near 42nd street, close to the water...." Y/n turned and caught three people fighting in an alley. "Wait go back"

Wanda turned the car around and pulled into the alley where the fight was happening. "We going to help?"

y/n didn't respond at first watching the scene in front of her.

Wanda continued "Those are two big guys and what's with the guy in the red costume? He's getting his ass beat"

y/n gulped as she placed her hand on the door getting ready to get out. She knew she and Wanda were watching the same fight however, Wanda saw two huge normal guys while y/n saw that each only had one eye.
