A/N: This one's kind of pointless. I originally wanted to make it a bonding fic (because I was in the mood) but due to my go-with-the-flow style of writing, it ended up as this.

Also, Halilintar's and Solar's nicknames for each other aren't mine. Hali's is used so often I don't even know where it originated anymore, and I saw Solar's in a fic once - sorry, I can't remember which one - and immediately fell in love with it.

"Remember, no powers. Now - three... two... one... go!"

On "go", a cloud of dust was kicked up, making the onlookers cough and splutter. Two streaks, one scarlet, the other gold, dashed into the maze of ravines and out of sight.

"I think - *cough* - I prefer training - *cough* - at TAPOPS station," Gopal gasped, waving a hand in front of his face in an attempt to clear the air.

"You know that's not sufficient, Gopal!" Ying scolded as she copied him, with the additional help of her powers, "TAPOPS station is in space. In order to get acquainted with the different environments we might encounter, we need to-"

"Yeah, yeah, we need to travel to various planets handpicked by TAPOPS for training, bla, bla, bla," Gopal cut her off impatiently, "The admiral literally yelled it in my face this morning, no need to repeat him like a broken record."

"What did you just call me?!"

"Aaaahhhh, I'm sorry! Stop chasing me!"

Chuckling and mentally sending a prayer to Gopal, Taufan moved to look over Gempa's shoulder at the stopwatch the latter was holding.

They were supposed to be timing each person as they searched for flags hidden in the maze of ravines and brought them back to the starting point, as a way to test their sense of direction. Of course, Solar being Solar had 'expressed his confidence' that he would have the fastest time, which ticked off Halilintar, which caused an argument, and which then led to the two of them having a race without powers to settle their disagreement.

Taufan could confidently bet that they'd spend more time trying to sabotage the other than looking for flags.

"How long do you think they'll be in there?" Blaze asked no one in particular, already bouncing with energy even though he had just finished his turn.

"Probably long enough for me to take a nap," Ice yawned from his spot on the grass, where he had collapsed after returning and hadn't moved since.

Gempa frowned, "Though I hate to have so little confidence in them... yeah, you're probably right."

Sure enough, there was no sign of Halilintar or Solar until almost an hour had passed; Duri, who was perched on a ledge some ways above them, suddenly called to the others, pointing into the ravine.

Shielding his eyes against the afternoon sun, Taufan could just make out the silhouettes of two people, sprinting at top speed towards the finish. They were neck-and-neck, and each clutched a flag.

In unison, Halilintar and Solar leapt over the line roughly drawn into the dirt, skidded to a stop (kicking up another cloud of dust), and spun around to face Gempa.

"So? Who won?" Solar gasped out between huffs, hands on knees.

"Me, obviously," Halilintar panted, trying to catch his breath, "I passed the finish line just before you."

"As if, Pikachu. I'm pretty sure I finished a millisecond before you did."

Halilintar glared at the nickname and opened his mouth to retort, but was cut off by Gempa.
