Thirty-one

I got home and miguel, johnny, and Eli were waiting for me.

"Quinn!" Johnny says standing up as i walk through the door

"Oh no" miguel says seeing my hands that had blood on them

"What did you do kid" johnny says scratching his forehead

"He got what he deserved" i say calmly as i wash my hands

"Quinn can i talk to you privately for a second" eli says without waiting for me to answer he just walks to my room

I follow him in and close the door

"Why did you do that" he asks sighing

"What?" I say

"Why did you go beat up robby. That's what they want. Now they have a reason to come hurt us physically" he says

"Your kidding right? They shaved your fucking head eli. I wasn't going to let him think he could do that to you" i say

"Look I'm not happy either but I already feel like a loser. I don't need someone else to fight my battles Quinn. Sensei's right you poked the beast. And now they won't hold back. You shouldn't have gone" he says standing up

"Eli come on you would have done the same for me. Even if I begged you to stay you would have gone if they layed a finger on me" i say and he just stares at me

"You would've... right?" I say confused

"I don't know Quinn. Sensei larusso makes some good points during our training. We can't just react without thinking because it turns a shitty mess shittier." He says and i deflate. I thought i was doing a good thing protecting him. I never thought in a million years he would be upset about it

"He isn't our sensei anymore eli" i say

"I was just trying to protect you eli" i add with zero energy

"I know you were, but you just need to think sometimes Quinn" he says before making his way out to the living room and i follow

"Quinn..." miguel begins to say but i stop him

"No No i get it. Next time someone fucks with one of us I'll just sit by and let them. Sorry I care about you eli." I say walking back to my room and slamming the door

The next day johnny took miguel and i to this abandoned warehouse where we would be practicing now

"This is the worst thing that could ever happen to us" johnny says referring to the new rules to the all valley

"Skills competition bullshit, kata isn't karate it's dancing, and this girls division? I thought they were all about womens lib, they need to man up and take punches like the rest of us" johnny says

"And where the hell is hawk?" He yells

"I don't know I haven't seen him since he lectured me like he was my mom lastnight" i say rolling my eyes

"You don't think he's bailing do you sensei" miguel says

"No, hawk isn't like that he's loyal. I'm sure he's just out getting a wig or something" johnny says but i wasn't so sure

After practice I made my way to Eli's house. Him and I might be in a fight but his ass needs to be in the dojo, warehouse thing until competition

"Quinn what are you doing here?" Demetri asks

"Here to see why his ass didn't show up for training" i say

"Wait he didn't go to your class? Uh oh" demetri says as he grabs the key and we barge inside

We run down stairs and see him on his laptop

"Dude where have you been" demetri says

"Where the hell were you today didn't you get sensei's text?" I say

"Guys, I'm done with this all. With karate, with the all valley, with everything" he says

"You're kidding right? Your hair style changes and you give up on everything. Eli your still the same person who had the Mohawk." I say

"Quinn you don't get it. And even if I still wanted to do karate it wouldn't be with johnny. I can't fall back and be like I was in cobra kai. And johnny and Eagle fang are just too similar to kreese and cobra Kai." He says

"Wow" i say standing up and leaving. I can't believe he's just bailing on johnny, miguel, and I like that

I don't know how this will effect eli and I. Obviously I saw us being together sometime in the near future but it feels like every day that "near future" becomes further and further.
