"You think you can run?" Cassie took a step back as the king took a step at her, grinning evilly. "You think you can hide? I will find you. And I will make sure you know it's me who kills you."

Cassie tripped over something as she continued to move backwards, and started scooting backwards on the floor instead, terrified for her life. "P-please, I didn't do anything!"

"You will pay." A second Odin appeared next to the first.

"You will pay." A third Odin appeared on the other side of the first, and more and more kept appearing as they chanted.

"Cassie!" Cassie opened her eyes, shooting out of her nightmare as Loki shook her.

She sat up and wrapped her arms around her knees as her breath shook. Loki wordlessly wrapped his arms around her and held her to his chest as she calmed down.

When her breath evened out more, but she didn't speak, Loki tried to whisper comforting things to her. "It's okay, you're safe now."

"O-Odin h-he-"

"Shhh, he's not here anymore. You're fine," Loki soothed.

A little while later, when Cassie really calmed down, her posture relaxed as she sighed and dropped her head forward into Loki's chest.

"I'm sorry," she muttered.

"What is there to be sorry about?" Loki asked.

"I probably woke you up, and you had to deal with my little fit," Cassie explained.

"I don't mind. I've had my share fair of nightmares myself," he reassured her.

"Well, thank you anyway," Cassie sighed. "What time is it?"

"Practically morning," Loki responded as he let go of her and Cassie sat more normally.

"I'll go get ready and we can go out." Cassie got out of bed, and Loki laid back down to wait for her.

"So what exactly is it that we're looking for?" Cassie asked as they walked.

"Essentials. Food, clothes, things like that," Loki responded.

Cassie nodded as she looked around at the shops for what they needed. There seemed to be a lot of bars. She wanted to get this over with quickly. They each had to use their magic to make themselves look like a different person, and it was tiring for Cassie, as she still wasn't completely healed.

Cassie was jerked out of her trance as Loki touched her arm. "Follow me."

She did as he said and followed him to a shop where he pulled aside the owner. He started muttering things to the owner, although she couldn't hear what, and he handed Loki a small brown sack.

Loki thanked him and the two were pushing through the crowd once more.

"What was that?" She asked.

"He owes me a favor," Loki said vaguely.

Cassie sighed, although she didn't say anything, because they did need the money to pay for what they needed.

They went around shops, buying what they needed with the money Loki got, before they went back and put all the stuff away. They got plenty of food to last weeks, and they each got a wardrobe of clothes.

"So," Cassie asked when they finished putting everything away. "Show me around?"

"Follow me," Loki grinned as he disappeared in a flash of green smoke, and Cassie had to track his energy source before teleporting next to him.

She found that he led her to a small waterfall that led into a river. They seemed to have come in the middle of a forest and she noticed the silver fish in the lake, as well as some deer and rabbits in the woods that had scurried away as soon as they arrived.

Cassie closed her eyes as she breathed in, relishing the smell of nature. It was too stuffy in the city for her—she liked the clean air where there was no pollution.

"It's peaceful, right?" Loki asked.

Cassie nodded as she opened her eyes. "Feels more like home than the city."

"I know what you mean. Asgard was built within the nature, as opposed to Earth which destroyed the nature so it could create the cities," Loki agreed.

Cassie smiled as she imagined the cities on Earth surrounded by nature. Buildings covered in vines. Wild animals roaming around. The humans would hate that.

Cassie was shaken out of her thoughts as a black wolf, Loki, jumped into the river and splashed her.

Cassie laughed as she shook the water off, and turned into a white wolf, following Loki into the river.

Loki's head disappeared underwater as Cassie reached him, and she paddled in place for a moment. Just before Cassie would start to get concerned about him being under too long, he appeared above the surface with a fish.

Cassie laughed as the fish wiggled in his jaws, and he struggled to bite his teeth into it. Loki lost the battle with the fish and he frowned as it slipped out of his jaws and swam away.

Cassie nudged his head with hers in a playful manner before jumping away and he chased after her. They both ran around the river before Loki teleported in front of her, and Cassie tumbled into him and they both crashed to the ground.

Cassie laughed as she stood back up, and shook her pelt out, splattering Loki with droplets. Loki growled playfully and jumped on top of her, pinning her down to the ground as he growled.

Cassie growled back and smacked him with her paw and Loki looked back in shock as Cassie giggled. Loki nipped at her ear before running off into the woods, and Cassie jumped to her feet and raced off after him.

This was the most fun she had had in a very long time and she didn't want it to end.
