Lost to the Pack

Have you ever been through
a situation where there's nothing
to do but to give up
just like that? I've been through one.

Praise the one that put a fight
you right to your face.
There aren't many of them
who give a stance like that.

Be afraid of the ones
who hunts you down
like a pack of wolves knowing
the moment you're gullible.

The moment you really realize
there's nothing to be done.
They've already pinned you
down even without a gun.

What am I supposed to do?
Relax, surrender yourself.
What, no way!
Listen, you can't fight back either.

Play it low, let them exert power
but don't give in yourself completely.
Bring them close enough and ignite.
You'll see they'd scatter like fleas.

A recollection from a novel
I read it a year ago.
Which was mentioned
as an analogy.

"Much more than a ferocious lion, it is the pack of wolves that we need to be afraid of."
