It's the middle of the first era. Pink Diamond was alongside of her Pink Pearl, walking on one of the corridors that lead to the Diamond's main hall. Pink Diamond, overflowing of beauty and grace while walking, whereas Pink Pearl following behind with grace and silence. Both arrived at the great hall where the rest of the Diamonds awaited, reuniting with them with a curtsy.
– Here I am, ¿What did you need me for? –
Pink Diamond asked to the Diamonds with an arrogant and jerkish tone.
– Hello Pink – Yellow Diamond said with a serious voice.
– Lately you've been insisting about having your own colony, and we de... –
– At last, you will give me the one I want!? Finally! – Pink diamond screamed, abruptly interrupting Yellow Diamond, making her a little annoyed, and before she could finish speaking, Blue Diamond continued the comment.
– Eh, that was not why we called you Pink, what Yellow was about to say is that us three agreed on a solution, a test. –
Pink Diamond lost her cheer and got back to an indifferent attitude as the conversation went on. Yellow continued
– That's right, a test just like blue said. We think that if we let you take care of something smaller than a colony, and proof that your able to tend to it for a while, we'll give you your own colony. –
Pink got mad and smugly responded
– What's the point? I've been taking care of Pearl for hundreds of years, Isn't that proof enough? –
That comment made Pink Pearl to stare shyly towards her Diamond. Both Yellow and Blue wanted to answer Pink's insolence, but White Diamond grabbed them both by the shoulder and started talking
– *Light laughter* Pink, we both know that the one who has been caring for you is Pearl. Not the other way around –
Pink felt ashamed by that comment as white continued her speech.
– We are not asking permission; we are telling you our decision. We'll put you on charge of a gem for a while. We made it jus perfect for you, to keep you occupied and teach you what is like to be in charge of something. –
White Diamond stood up and brought something from inside her tunic, and with both hands, lowered it towards Pink, who raised her hands unsure and curious about what White would give to her. Finally, White's hands reached Pink's and allowed her to gaze upon a new gem; pink, enthusiastic and prepared for her new assignment.

– I'm so excited to meet you! Ha, ha! – the little gem screamed just before stretching to reach Pink's hand and swinging between her arms while laughing, making Pink flinch in surprise and then smile towards the new gem.
