it was your first day on the job, and to be honest you were about to throw up from nervousness.

"don't be nervous! you're already like, zeke's favorite."

you looked at him, rolling your eyes.

"don't roll your eyes at me," armin said. he was joking, obviously.

"well, it's about to be 9."

"good luck!" armin kissed you, handing you your bag. "i'll see you later."

"see you later!" you called back, getting out of the car.

he waved, smiling to himself as he watched you go inside.

the office was busy, with the sound of printers going, keyboard clacking, and phones ringing.

you were regretting this already.

it took everything in you to not turn around and walk back out the door, but you gave it a chance.

there zeke was again, by the usual door that led to his office.

"y/n! made it on time." he shook your hand.

"yeah, i was looking forward to today."

"well, follow me."

zeke led you to a smaller office separated from the rest of the employees. it was pretty boring, and smelled like coffee and cheap air freshener.

"you'll be working here for now, transferring people to the other lines. but today, i'll leave you here to settle in and stuff, there's nothing i really need you to do at the moment so just...relax."

you nodded, there wasn't a problem with that.

zeke left you in the office alone, shutting the door behind him. you walked over the the chair, sitting down and looking around. the desk was empty except for a pen cup, computer, an artificial plant in the corner and copy paper in the drawers.

you sat back in the seat, staring off for a moment, until someone walked in. he was tall with short cut blonde hair, a nervous look across his face.

"hey?"

"hi! you're new, right?"

"yeah, just came. your name?"

"oh, i'm colt. grice. i'm supposed to be showing you what to do."

"come and show me then,"

colt pulled up a chair, and began explaining.

"so, you'll get a call right? and you greet them, ask how they're doing, all of that. ask what they're calling for, then transfer them to that line. it's simple."

"okay, wait, how do i know how to transfer them?"

"the list of up here," he pointed to a piece of paper thumbtacked to the desk.
'LINES FOR BUSINESS AFFAIRS.'
"just dial the number for whatever they request, and it'll automatically transfer them."

"that's pretty easy, actually."

"it is," colt stood up,"i'll tell zeke he can get you started on a few."

you nodded, and he walked out.

tapping your fingers against the desk, you waited, and waited.

until the phone rang, and you basically jumped to answer it.

the calls didn't stop there, though.

calls after calls, you answered, asked the callers about their needs, transferred them over, repeat. for hours.
