Two Years Gone

Prompt: two years ago you left the BAU and what was building with Spencer after accidentally putting a team members life in danger. You receive a letter informing you Hotch is leaving the BAU and the team is throwing him a party.

Due to some recent changes, SSA Aaron Hotcher is leaving his position at the BAU. On November 20th we are throwing him a party and would like for you to make an appearance. Please join the team at David Rossi's house, 93 Wayward Ave.

"Aarons leaving?" You ask yourself

A few seconds go by and you reread the letter

"Are they just being nice, or do they actually want to see me?" You debate not going and facing the team, but decide to attend for Aaron, and maybe Spencer.

*2 years ago*

"Y/n... what do you think?" Hotch asks

"I think the best decision is to catch the unsub ASAP and not wait for another potential victim" you state to the team

"But we don't know the layout of the house yet, and this unsub has shown to be erratic" Derek adds

"True, but if we strategize and work as a team then maybe we can finish this before someone else gets hurt"

"y/n is right, we go in arrest the unsub and leave, ensuring we have all angles covered" Hotch reassures you

You have known Agent Aaron Hotcher for a few years now, in fact he is the reason you joined the BAU. After attending one of his keynote speeches on criminal profiling you were hooked on forensic psychology and continued to keep in connection with Hotch. Eventually this led to you joining the team.

Spencer comes and sits beside you

"I think you have a good idea y/n, well I think all your ideas are good" he laughs, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"Thanks Spence, you actually gave me the idea for it"

"Really?" He asks raising his eyebrows smiling

"Yeah, last case when we found the final victim you talked about how we could have prevented it if we utilized everyone's skills better. JJ is great at talking to unsubs and connecting with them, Emily understands the details, Hotch works out the plans, Derek is a strong force, and you Spence, you give us insight into how things will play out, you're kind of the string that ties everything together" you give Spencer a small wink

"I think that's you" Spencer retorts with a laugh

Since joining the team you have felt a deep connection with Spencer, after every case the two of you have your ritual of going out for a meal and doing something fun. This helps take your mind off the case. After this case Spencer and you planned to go ice skating at the indoor rink. Both of you stated you were not very good and figured there was no better person to learn with than each other. You couldn't have asked for a better friend than Spencer, but overtime you began to develop feelings for the handsome genius.

"The faster we get this case done, the faster I can watch you fall on your ass" You smile poking at Spencer

"Not a change y/l/n, If I go down, you're coming down with me" He laughs leaning in closer to you

"We'll see about that" You stand up and mess up his hair a little as you walk out of the room

"JJ and I can take the entrance with Rossi behind us, Spencer and Emily take the left side of the building, Derek and Hotch the right. I think JJ and I will be able to talk to the unsub" You state after discussing the plan with Hotch
