It's been a year since my mom's death. I still have struggles, especially with my little brother, Forrestt, moved in with my grandpa after my moms death. He said it was too hard for him to live in the same house and since he was homeschooled.

It's the first day of freshman year in high school and I'm super nervous, I mean it's not like no one gets the jitters on the first day of school...right?

It didn't help the fact that my counselor told me I had to pair with this exchange student from Australia. Which I was not excited about but there was nothing I could do about it.

I stood in the mirror making sure my outfit looked good enough for the first day, "Rowyn!! Cmon let's go! Your going to be late!" My dad called out to me from downstairs, "I know dad! I'm coming!" I hollered back grabbing my backpack and running down the stairs.

I grabbed my shoes and ran out to the car slipping them on once I was seated and buckled.

"Running late on the first day?! Not like Rowyn. at. All!" Raedyn snapped.

"Shut up." I snarked back.

I greeted my friends when I first arrive at school but the time trying to catch up was quickly interrupted by the bell ringing, "Ugh! I'll see you guys at lunch love you all!" I told everyone earning hugs here and there. I walked down the main hall to my first period and entered the classroom to find my seat.

It took a minute before a very tall handsome boy walked in with his fluffy ashy blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes, and toned jaw sat down next to me. He was wearing black dress pants I assumed and a maroon Loose shirt. I was to busy on my phone having a photo war with my friends on Instagram, when suddenly the boy spoke out, "hi, I'm Noah." He greeted me, I noticed he had an Australian accent.

I knew exactly who he was, I turned and looked towards him and he smiled at me, which led to me smiling back.

I put my phone down and explained to him I was his guide, but he already knew that and he informed me we were going to have pretty much every class together. I groaned at the though, I was not looking forward to anything such. The only upside was he was very very very! Cute.

"We're seriously going to have every class together?" I questioned and he laughed, "Uh yeah I'm pretty sure, we can compare schedules if you wa-" I cut him off before he could say anymore, "No, no it's fine! I believe you!"

The school day went by excruciatingly long, sitting next to Noah in every class, he wasn't kidding. My dad had picked me and my brother up from school and once I saw his car I walked over and got in as we waited for Raedyn.

He finally walked out of the school with none other than...Noah. "Hey dad! Can Noah come over and hang out? He's an exchange student so I wanna make him feel welcome."

I can not believe my brother just asked that!! "No! Dad! Please say no!!"

My dad just laughed at me, "Rowyn you can have a friend over if you want but yes, Noah your welcome to come over!" I rolled my eyes and slumped in my seat.

Raedyn climbed in the front seat which meant that Noah was going to sit with me. "Seriously?! First I have to show you around the school which meant we have every class together, now you raid my home?! My goodness!"

Everyone laughed and I assumed that it's because they're all boys so of course, they wouldn't understand.

The ride was quiet and short since we live like a minute away from the school, I quickly got out to the car and ran inside leaving the front door open. I ran up to my room and shut the door, plopping down on my bed and groaning in annoyance.
