There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book. And when that time comes I would probably choose the latter. Why? Because closing the book means leaving everything behind. The pain, the suffering, the people and the happiness you have with them. And then you will open a new book. Panibagong libro kung saan walang sakit at paghihirap at walang ala-ala ng nakaraan mo.

I sipped on my coffee as i closed the book in front of me.

It End With Us, a novel by Colleen Hoover.

I silently cursed Gunter for suggesting this book to me.

"That motherfucker! I told him I want to read some interesting novel. A happy one to be exact. But the asshole indeed suggested an interesting novel but it was not the book i am dying to read. The book completely shattered my whole existence!"

I sipped on my coffee again.

"Don't he even dare to show his ugly face on me!"

Ibinaba ko ang tasang hawak ko dahil sa pagtunog ng aking telepono. Mas lalong nadagdagan ang inis ko nang makita kung sino ang tumatawag.

"Oh, It's the ugliest human ever existed." I murmured.

"What do you want, Asshole?" I asked in annoyance.

"Wow huh? Wala man lang “Good morning, gwapong Gunter?”. Asshole agad? Nakakasakit ka naman ng damdamin, Lorcan!"Rinig ko ang pag-iinarte nito sa boses niya.

"Gago! Anong maganda sa umagang tang'na ka? After you let me read that freaking book?! Kung basagin ko kaya 'yang pagmumukha mo?" Nayayamot kong sabi.

Malakas itong humalakhak na mas lalong nakapagpadagdag ng inis ko.

"How is it? It is fun to read, right?" He asked and laughed hard.

"Won't you stop laughing, Roqas?" I asked coldly. Mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro ang pagtigil nito sa kaniyang pagtawa.

"I'm sorry about that." Agad na sabi nito.

"Anyway, wala naman akong planong sirain ang araw mo but i got a call from Chairman Villa Corta and he's asking if you can come to the hospital now." Wika nito na ikinakunot ng noo ko.

"I thought I'll be start working tomorrow? Kararating ko lang sa Pilipinas, wala ba silang balak na pagpahingahin man lang ako kahit isang araw?" Tanong ko.

Gunter chuckled a bit."There's an emergency. A patient needs an immediate brain surgery to remove the tumor. And it should be done within an hour dahil sa komplekadong kalagayan ng pasyente. But they having a trouble, wala pa ni isa sa mga doctor nila ang nakagagawa ng operasyon within an hour only. Maliban na lang sa'yo." Gunter explained.
