Hermione POV
I leaned against one of the tall, sturdy trees that stood alone in the forest. It was a beautiful place, the snow glazed over the frozen layers of ice, the compacted snow crunches beneath your feet as you walk, but melts as you touch it. It sprinkles from the sky, then rains from the trees leaves and falls onto your face and sticks to your warm cheeks until it melts. The sun was out, but the snow was stubborn, refusing to go anywhere.
I remember the day like it was yesterday, the day my mum and dad brought me here. I was nine. I was happy.
My dad looked down at me, his eyes filled with joy and laughter.
"Hermione dearie, you have to promise me that you won't wander off on your own, okay?" His voice was stern but gentle at the same time.
He grabs my hand and pulls me closer to him as I smile. "I won't daddy. Wherever you go, I'll be right behind you." I reply.
"Okay. You can open your eyes now Hermione," I hear my mothers sweet voice like golden honey pouring from a jar.
My eyes budge open and I take in the Forrest. It's extremely beautiful. There are trees everywhere, covering nearly every inch of the snow. Everywhere I looked there was a tree standing in the way, which only captured the magnificent beauty of the whole scene. The snow that was below my feet was fluffy and white, and cold, just the way I like it. I lay down in it and roll around, feeling the snow traveling down my neck and back.
I see my mothers face above mine. "Where are we mother?" I ask.
"Forest of Dean." She says. "Most magnificent place in the world in our opinion." She glances to my father and they smile, glancing down at me.
"You'll always be ours. Okay Hermione?" My father says, picking me up and enveloping me in a large hug, which my mother later joins into.
"Okay, daddy. I'll always be yours." I laugh, realising that he is probably right. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I'd just stay here, with my mum and dad, in this space, forever.
I gasp as I'm brought back into reality when Harry shakes my shoulder. I glance around, I'm still sitting near the tree, but I must have fallen asleep while I was on watch.
"You can rest for a bit. I'll be fine." Harry tells me with a small smile.
His smile brings me life, it brings me joy and happiness, but it also brings me a hint of despair. My chances with him are now dimmer than ever, especially when he finds out about his wand, he was going to be furious. At me.
