Writer's pov

I wonder what it feels to live like a normal person, to have friends, to go to school, and be free.

Rose sighed heavily as the same thought, same question crossed her mind for a thousandth time.

she inhaled the same chilly night wind that often burned her nose and stared at the dark dull area flooded with trees and nothingness which did nothing to help her get rid of her sadness.

"Rose..." her mothers voice made her tear her eyes away from the view and take a step back from the glass railing of their terrace,

"come darling dinner is ready" her mother called her.

"Yeah..." rose said in a dull tired voice making her way towards the staircase.

"Rose?" her mother stopped her and made her turn around looking straight into her eyes.

"What happened sweetie? why do you look so upset?" she asked caressing Rose's forehead lightly.

"Nothing" rose said looking down at her feet unable to hide her sorrow.

Rose's mother was going to insist on making her speak but her husband's voice booming from downstairs about how hungry he is made her rush downstairs.

"Can't you guys hurry up i am dying of starvation" Nate whined as he tapped his fork on the table impatiently waiting for his family to gather at the table.

"You are such a drama queen dad" Ethan rolled his eyes which were glued to his phone screen.

The dinner began with usual chitter chatter and quarreling but soon turned silent as all of them noticed how distant and lost rose was.

"Honey why aren't you eating?" Nate asked in concern.

"Nothing I am just not hungry" Rose said.

"What happened rose we've been noticing that you are upset" Alex asked caressing her hair.

"Nothing....I...I just..." Rose began but stopped herself as she remembered this topic always ends up in a huge bitter fight.

"Now don't tell me that you want to go out" Ehshaan said snatching the words right out of Rose's mouth.

Rose sighed trying her best to not let her tears fall down.

"Is that what you've been thinking?" Alex asked looking at rose who was trying to hide her face behind her hairs but Alex hooked them behind her ears and made her look at him, and her quivering chin and welled up eyes were enough of a prove that indeed ehshaan was right.

Alex sighed heavily and placed his fork back on the table.

"Rose we've talked about this..." he began but she cut him off.

"I know I know that we've talked about this, but talking doesn't help with the fact that I am not a normal person, I've seen enough TV and social media I know what I live like is not normal, and I want normal" she said as tears escaped from her eyes which she quickly wiped.

"Do you have any fucking idea how dangerous it is for you out there?" Ehshan snapped and rose flinched visibly before running towards her bedroom.

"Why the fuck would you talk to her in that tone, you know she is super sensitive" Ethan yelled at his twin before following their parents and brother towards Rose's bedroom.

They stood there and watched as she sobbed in her mother's embrace while his father rubbed her back trying to make her calm down.

Alex glared at his younger brother before sitting on his knees.

"Rose..." he called her sister making her look at him.

"I know you are upset and you feel like we've been unjust to you..." He began

"No Alex it's not like that, I understand that what you guys are doing is for my own good and probably best and necessary for me but you have to understand that I am human at the end of the day, I don't remember the last time I talked to someone apart from you guys and the servants, I don't even remember when was the last time I stepped outside this house" she said and broke into hysterical sobs as she finally said what she has been thinking.

The knight family's heart broke as they listened to her sobs, she really was treated like a princess, like a glass doll, with too much care and protection.

"Okay how about we go on a vacation?" Nathaniel asked and rose looked at her father breaking out from her mother's embrace.

"Dad...." Ehshan began but instantly shut up as everyone In the room glared at him.

"Yes we'll celebrate your 18th birthday on a vacation" Her mother beamed hoping to cheer rose up.

"Really?" she asked her dull face lighting up.

"Yeah...wherever you want to go" Alex said smiling widely at her.

"Come on let's see where do you want to go" Ethan grabbed her wrist and dragged her with him and Ehshan followed them fearing that Ethan might force his vacation plan on Rose.
