It was around 8 at night when Valerie got a text from Jasper asking if he could come over to which she replied with of course. Soon after there was a knock on her window, looking over Valerie could see Jasper waving at her.

Rolling her eyes the brunette went and opened the window letting Jasper into her room.

"You know when you asked to come over I tought you meant like a normal person through the front door." Jasper closed the window as he stepped into the room.

"You kidding me? I don't wanna seem rude and have Charlie thinking bad of me."

She muttered a of course as she gave him a hug not bothered by his cold arms around her since she had a hoodie on.

"I missed hanging out with you this past few days." he smiled at her as they let go of eachother, "I know but you know it's for your own good Val."

The human girl groaned at his words and soon they got into a mini fight again. What about? Jasper is convinced that he'll accidently hurt Valerie when he hasn't feed in a little while the latter knows he wouldn't hurt her since he hasn't before.

"Look Val just drop it, please. I could never forgive myself if I would of hurt my mate."

With the last sentence leaving Jasper's mouth, it was like the world just stopped. While Valerie was in shock of what the vampire said, the blonde male was cursing himself and his big mouth inside his head a thousand times.

"What did you just say?"

He stayed quiet not knowing what to say, all he wanted to do at that moment was to run but he didn't do that either. Instead he stayed put and he stayed quiet, trying to read the human girl's emotions but to no success. She was masking them good and the ones he could read were confusion and conflict which made no sense to the empath.

"That's why you decided to let me into your life? All of you? Just because I'm your mate?" her tone was laced with hurt and anger, "No. At first none of us had no idea but Alice could see that you were gonna be a part of our lives somehow just not how or why. When you bumped into Rose that day and introduced yourself and made sure she felt welcomed since everyone stared at us like-"

Jasper stopped mid sentence, thinking back to the day he offically met Valerie as a small smile rested on his face. He was also choosing his next words carefully since he knew she didn't like the word freaks.

"My point is, we decided to let you in, to become friends with you because we wanted to. You were so nice and friendly towards us. How could of we resisted?" Jasper looked into her eyes not even using his gift to read her anymore, all he needed to know was in her eyes.

"So you've known for a while I presume? Why didn't you tell me?" her tone was laced with couriness now, Valerie wanted answers and she was determined to get them.

Jasper shrugged at her question only saying scared I guess because if he was being honest he didn't know the answer either or maybe he did but didn't want to admit it to her or anyone, not even himself.

That was it. Silence. Nothing more, nothing less. Valerie's head was a mess. Spinning with curiosity and questions that needed answers. But right there and then the brunette girl decided to forget all of that. Instead she made her way to the vampire boy and threw her arms around him in a hug. Taken aback with the gesture Jasper needed a few seconds before he returned the hug, wrapping his arms around the girl's waist.

"Where you ever going to tell me?" the brunette girl's voice came out soft almost in a whisper, "Probably not. No." he felt guilty but only because he wanted her to have a normal life even if it meant seeing her with someone else.

"But- since we're already here. Would you consider being my girlfriend?"

Valerie let go of the hug as she looked at him, not believing her ears and the words she just heard.

"Are you being serious right now?" Jasper nodded his head.

"As serious as can be ma'am."

His Southern accent came out which Valerie always had a soft spot for.

A big smile spread across the girl's face as she said yes and gave him another big hug, this one lasting shorter then the previous one but still long enough.

Suddenly it was like time stopped as the two gazed into eachother's eyes with smiles on both of their faces.

"May I kiss you miss Swan?"

A giggle escaped Valerie's throat which suprised her. She never tought she would get like this over a guy.

"Yes you may mister Whitlock."

With that sentence Jasper's left hand went to cup her cheek while the other went to rest on her waist. Soon the gap between the two closed and their lips touched, intervened into a kiss.

The kiss was slow, romantic and just perfect. Valerie never felt like this before, she was practically melting into the kiss and she didn't mind one bit.

She didn't know what tomorrow would bring, she had no idea how she was gonna explain her over the night relationship to her sister and their friends. All she knew now that she, Valerie Swan, was kissing Jasper Whitlock Hale and besides that she couldn't care less about anything else.

Little did she know that soon, all hell would break loose and she was gonna be caught in between everything.
