(Set in season 3)

"I'm done, I have to turn myself in" Gabriel sighed

"What? You can't give up now, we're so close" said Nathalie

"No, we're not, every time you say that we end up doing something stupid and we end up putting innocent people in danger" Gabriel stated

"What about Emilie?! Don't you want her back?"

"She's dead!! She's not coming back and honestly... she probably wouldn't want to live in a world where I'm a terrorist" he shouted

"What about Adrien? What about me?" Nathalie's eyes were blurred by building tears "all I've ever done is support you, even when it involved almost dying!"

"I didn't ask you to use the miraculous! You took it when you knew it was a death sentence."

"I was only trying to save US!" The built up tears started to overflow

"There is no us!! We're a pair of criminals, we're partners in crime, not a couple" Gabriel said before turning his back and heading towards the door

"Gabe, please. I can't do this without you"

"Then don't." Gabriel closed the door behind him

Nathalie watched as he left and collapsed into a pile on the cold marble floor. She sobbed numbly staring at the floor with her glasses in her hand.

She heard the front door slam shut and instantly, it set in that he wasn't coming back.

She just laid there as her life fell apart around her. What was she to tell Adrien? Should she go with Gabriel? These were just the first of many questions for her to ask herself.

*Knock knock* Nathalie heard from outside the door "Gabriel?" She stumbled to her feet, wiping her eyes.

The door pushed open "Nathalie, are you ok?" Adrien wondered, noticing her red eyes and smudged makeup "I heard shouting"

"I'm fine, your father and I were just discussing his schedule" Nathalie put on a fake smile

"Are you ok? Did he hurt you?"

"No, it's just stressful, that's all" she lied

"Ok" Adrien returned to his room

The sound of his footsteps faded and the tears resumed. Nathalie opened her computer and there he was, Gabriel's name was plastered all over every news feed.

She knew he would break eventually and tell them Mayura's true identity, it was only a matter of when. Atleast if she revealed it herself, she could control how.

"Hello, how can I help you today?" The receptionist greeted her

"I..." she paused, taking a deep breath "my name is Nathalie sancouer, I am Mayura"
