Lilah

I finally slept. The sun was high in the sky by the time I finally woke up and stayed awake. The whole time I could still feel Spencer's arms around me, his chin resting on my head.

"Spence?" I shifted to look up at him.

"I'm here my love." He said softly. "I'm not leaving, I promise."

"I need you.. I can't do this. I want to be able to look at you without any worry that something will happen." I brushed a hand over his cheek.

"Are you.. afraid of me?" He murmured, half leaning out of my touch.

"No- Spencer I'm not afraid of you. I just know that if anything were to happen, you wouldn't forgive yourself." I leaned up and kissed his forehead.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my temple. "Okay."

"Lilah, Spencer, I may have an idea." I looked up to see Emily walk in, James a bit behind her.

"What is it Emily?" Spencer lifted his head slightly.

"Well, if they gave Spencer a fear inducing drug, and used it to trigger a reaction in him, what if we gave him a calming drug, and slowly reintroduce you, well, your appearance, to him? If it doesn't work, there's no harm done. We'll have to take some safety measures, just as a precaution but."

I looked up at Spencer, brushing a hand over his cheek. "It's up to you my love."

He gripped my hand slightly. "Let's try it. If it doesn't work, then it's no harm done, like you said." He nodded.

"I'll talk to James about working it out, I'll be back in a little bit okay?"

"Alright Em, and thank you." Spencer nodded, holding me close against his chest.

Em walked off, her hands in her pockets.

"I hope this works." Spencer murmured.

"I know." I cupped his cheek. "I know Love."

About two hours later, Emily lead Spencer and I to another room, a chair dragged into the middle of it.

"Sit down Spencer." Em said softly, and the man in question let me guide him a bit to the chair.

"Alright, we're going to tie your wrists to the chair, just in case alright? Just to make sure you don't hurt yourself or anyone else." James said softly, walking over.

"Okay." Spencer nodded, shifting to grip my hand for a moment.

I watched as Emily and James bound him to the chair.

I gently ran a hand through Spencer's hair. "You'll be okay."

He leaned into my touch. "I know Love."

"Li, step out for just a minute okay?" Emily looked to me.

I hesitated slightly before pressing a kiss to Spencer's forehead, closing my eyes for moment.

"He'll be okay Li, nothing will happen to either of you. I promise." Em squeezed my hand gently.

I nodded quietly.

"James will come get you in just a minute."

I squeezed Spencer's hand again and nodded, quietly leaving the room. I really hope this will help him..

Spencer

I couldn't help but tense a little when they sent Lilah out. I knew why they did it, but it still worried me a little.

I knew Emily and James would be here, and I knew that they'd protect Lilah if anything went wrong, but I'll never forgive myself if she ends up her because of me.

"Spencer, I'm gonna take off the blindfold okay?" I just nodded as I felt Emily's fingers at the back of my head, untying the knot and gently removing the fabric from over my eyes.

I blinked a bit to adjust to the light, looking over at Emily.

James walked over, holding a small glass. "This has a calming drug in it, if my theory is right, it will have a reverse effect of whatever you were given."

"Okay." I nodded, instinctively half tensing my arms and pulling at the bonds slightly, mostly trying to test them to ensure I couldn't get loose from it without being untied or cut loose.

"It'll be okay Spencer. You ready?" Em gently set a hand on my shoulder, squeezing gently.

I nodded. "I'm ready." I let James hold the glass up to my lips, drinking. After a minute I could start to feel it's effects..

I felt calm, leaning back in the chair.

I was vaguely away of Em's voice calling Li's name, as well as Lilah walking into the room.

I lifted my head to look at the blonde woman, unable to stop myself from tensing and jerking against the restraints slightly.

"It's okay Spencer, you're okay. Just breathe." I closed my eyes for a moment, listening to what Emily had said before opening my eyes again, looking to Lilah.

"Spencer?" I looked to her face, clenching my fists slightly in an attempt to ground myself. I couldn't help but to pull my head back as she cupped my cheek.

Almost immediately I could see tears start to well in her eyes as she pulled her hand back, tucking her hands under her arms.

"Li it's okay." James set his hand on her shoulder. "This is already improvement, and we knew it would take more than one try."

She nodded as Emily picked up the blindfold, gently tying it back around my eyes.

Almost immediately I relaxed, taking a small breath as I felt Emily untie my wrists. "Li?" I murmured, hesitantly holding an arm out, unsure if she'd want me to hold her right now.

After a moment I felt her curling into me, burying her face in her neck. "I just want you to be okay.."

"I know Li, I know I'm sorry." I held her tightly. "But James said there was improvement, we can keep trying, see if we can make more progress with this okay?"

I felt her nod as she gripped onto my shirt. "Okay.." She murmured, one of her hands brushing into my hair.

"Let's go lay down Li." I picked her up gently, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple.

"Okay.."
