neil- after one of his particularly bad fights with his dad, you got fed up with how mr. perry treats him and told neil to stand up for himself.

"neil, sweetie, you can't keep going on like this, stand up for yourself!"

this, of course, made him even more upset, because he thought you understood what their relationship was like. not a lot can make neil mad, but this one earned you the silent treatment, later made up for with your favourite chocolates and flowers.

todd- while walking to class, you kept getting distracted by things around you, and slightly overwhelmed by the bodies coming towards you from every direction, and completely did not notice todd trying to grab you hand. cue puppy dog eyes. he got so upset by this and managed to convince himself you never even liked him in the first place, and it took a team of all the boys to get him to talk to you about this. when he did, you quickly apologized and brushed it off, not realizing how much it affected him.

"oh, i'm sorry sweetheart. anyways i wanted to talk to you about-" this made him even more upset.

"stop trying to shove me aside!" you were so shocked you just pulled him into a hug and assured him you love him.

charlie- some guy charlie knew was throwing a party, so of course charlie was going to be there, and of course you had to go with him. so, after a bit of pleading and lots of compliments, you agreed. as the night went on, charlie had quite a bit to drink, and an equally drunk stranger was not getting the hint you didn't like him. knowing how jealous charlie can get, it wasn't a surprise when he immediately took hold of the situation and told the guy to fuck off; what was a surprise, though, was when charlie socked him on the jaw. the stranger did not take kindly to this and threw himself on charlie. the fight was broken up and you rushed a bloody charlie to the bathroom and found a first aid kit, all the while telling him off for being irresponsible and stupid.

"oh i'm irresponsible? that dude wasn't hearing a word you said, he needed the sense knocked into him"

you two continued to bicker as you tended his "war wounds" (as he liked to call them). it wasn't a big fight, certainly not a relationship ender, but it was the first time you called him an idiot and meant it.

knox- it was the end of the first semester, and you were finally done with calculus, so to celebrate this great success, you threw all your notes from the class into the trash in your room; completely forgetting you stored one of the poems knoxious wrote for you in there. while he lounged in your room, doing something or other, he noticed his spidery handwriting peeking out in your trash can and his curiosity got the better of him. he pulled it out and found it was the poem he wrote for you. he confronted you about it immediately, and took your actual shock and surprise as you mocking him. he went on and on about how much you mean to him and how dare you just throw it out and how could you i thought you loved me until you finally shut him up with a kiss and got your side of the story out while he quietly fumed. he forgave you, but you were extra careful about where you put his gifts from then on.

pitts- it was gerards birthday soon, and you wanted to do something special. you remembered when he made the off comment of never having had a surprise party, so you hatched a plan. knowing charlies love of parties and glitter, you asked for his help. it was unbeknownst to you that charlie had been crushing on you since day one, and pittsie got very nervous when he was around you. you didn't think much of charlies flirty behaviour or his need to be close, that was just charlie to you. pitts tried not to notice that you two were sitting together more often, or that you whispered and cast glances his way, that you giggled more and smiled at him often, but a seed of doubt had been planted in his mind, and he couldn't seem to dig it out. he got quiet, started giving you more space, but you were so busy planning you didn't notice. he eventually got so sick of it he confronted you about it.

"what are you and charlie talking about?"

"can't tell you" you giggled

"can't tell me?"

"it's a secret!" he huffed at this and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"yeah, right, something secret with charlie who is absolutely not trying to get in your pants."

"what the fuck? ger, what are you talking about?"

"why can't you just tell me what you're doing with him?" he snapped and threw his hands up.

"because it's for your fucking birthday. jesus, pitts, you really think i'd cheat on you?"

pitts felt so ashamed at this that he practically ran away from you and consulted the boys, scripting an apology that he gave very nervously the next day.

meeks- "i've never even read anything by homer" neil laughed and most of the group agreed with him, except you, todd, and meeks, of course.

"of course you haven't, puck, you're too in love with shakespeare to read anything else. besides, homers overrated anyways." you laughed and joked, hoping to hit a nerve on steven (one of your favourite games to play). unfortunately, meeks really enjoyed discussing homers brilliance with you and considered your shared love a key component of your relationship.

"overrated?" he raised his brows. the rest of the group quieted at the tension that was suddenly caught betwixt the group.

"yeah, overrated. all the drama for what? we get it, war happened lots, get over it!" you continued, thinking this would be a fun debate. but instead, meeks got up and left the room quickly. all the dead poets exchanged glances and you got up to go after him.

"meeks, darling, i was joking. why are you upset?" you caught his arm.

"don't joke about that."

"about homer? steven-"

"i like that we have stuff in common so please don't joke about it, please." he was genuinely upset, something you'd have to unpack later.

"got it, i'm sorry, carissima, it won't happen again." you pecked him on the cheek and that was that, fights don't last long between the two of you.

(a/n: so sorry for not updating in forever, lovelies. my great grandfather died a week ago so i had to fly to ontario for his funeral, and then my great uncle died yesterday, so this month has been a pain in the ass when it comes to loss. i've also been super busy with school and my equine massage course, but i do have my first real training job at a barn near my house, so that's exciting. i'm open for any requests, suggestions, or critique so do not be afraid to message or comment. love you all, hope you like the chapter.)
