We were getting there... For months, I held onto that and I believed him. For months, those words remained and became my only belief when it comes to love... that we were slowly getting there, a destination I'm not even familiar of, but because it was his words, I still held onto them like they are my lifeline.

I started going to college, he went back to Siargao to take care of their family business and of course, the hotel yet he occasionally visited me, on special events... he would suddenly arrive to see me. That was the setup, until now, it still is.

Our communication never reached an end because despite the distance, he still managed to find ways on how to talk to me. We would call each other on a daily basis, he would make time so that he could ask me about random things like how my day went or what I ate for breakfast. It was something that kept on going even if I never asked it to.

Even if I was tied-up with my schoolworks and other activities, I was never too busy for Nycho, I was never too occupied to not have time for him. That was already enough for me to know that I have fallen deeper. But in the end... I needed to get a hold of my feelings, because we were taking things slow...

Him saying that we're getting there, was a never ending cycle in my head, I could never get it off my mind now that it's the only thing I'm holding on to. I had a lot of hopes, I wanted this thing to work so bad now that I know I'm so invested in him and he is to me...

vry! group study at the donut shop?

My classmate, Jana, texted me. I looked outside the window trying to check if the weather was fine, it looked okay so I didn't see any reason why I shouldn't go. I went downstairs and took the car keys, my mom was at home so I waved goodbye to her.

"Where are you off to, Gaia?" She asks while she's busy baking cupcakes in the kitchen, I could already smell the sweet scent of the batter. Since my mom started taking breaks from the business, she's now busy making pastries at home.

"Group study, with Jana and my other classmates." I said and walked to the kitchen to give her a hug. We were the only ones staying at home since Cyean's already in the US for Med School and my dad went there to check on him. "Bye mom."

I parked my car in front of the donut shop, there was a free space there so I decided to just leave my car there and go inside. I looked around to see if Jana's there and I smiled when I saw them on the table across the counter. Jana, Drake and Seia were seated there. I hurried towards them.

"Vrylle! Glad you can make it!" Seia says while holding a pen up. The three of them have been on my side ever since college started, of course, Rox, Amee and all of my other friends and I have separated in terms of universities so we don't see each other that often anymore. "Sit down!"

"I had nothing else to do..." I said and took a seat beside Drake, I took my books out from my tote bag and started to go through the pages. We do this every weekend, it's our way of hanging out together and at the same time, reviewing the lessons and discussions from the previous week. "Can you pass me the highlighter, Jana?"

"Here," They looked very busy and stressed out. More stressed out than the previous weeks, I took the highlighter from her hand and started to work on the books, reviewing. "Hey Vry! Are you still seeing that guy? Nycho right?"

I automatically scanned my eyes around her face, she looked ecstatic and excited to hear about my stories. I smiled at her, trying to think if I should tell her about him or not. Suddenly, he became my favorite story, he became my favorite topic, I love it when people ask me about him.
