TN to NYC (A Sonny Carisi Fanfiction)

First day at Precinct

****Sonny's Pov****

"Why do you have to be so rude to her?!"
I said throwing my hands in the air

"Because I don't trust her."
Lauren said hateful

"Lauren we just met her literally and she's in my class."
I said

"I don't want you talking to her."
Lauren said

"Lauren you can't control who I talk to."
I said

"Whatever...but she looks at you the wrong way that's it."
Lauren said

"I'll see you later."
she added kissing my cheek and walking away

I looked off Sophia was long gone but I felt like I needed to make it right with her

I decided to head to the shake shack and eat to kill time before the precinct

12:30

I made my way there and when I arrived and walked in, to my surprise Sophia was sitting down at a table eating while reading a book

I ordered my food and once I got it I went over to the table she was at

"Is there room for one more?"
I asked

Sophia looked up at me shocked

"Umm, sure."
She sorta smiled and pulled her backpack down off the chair

I sat down

"I'm sorry about my girlfriend."
I said

"Eh don't worry about it, I'm not. I mean she has nothing to worry about."
She said

I wonder what she meant about that

"I just for the most part keep to myself and don't like bullshit".
She said

"Wow."
I said

I took a bite of my food and Sophia put her book In her backpack

"How did the phone call go?"
I Asked

Sophia shot me a glare

"I only said that so Lauren would back off."
Sophia said

"You don't have to worry about her."
I said

"So Are you nervous for our first day at internship?"
Sophia asked changing the subject

"Alittle, are you?"
I asked

"Yeah sorta."
She said

Sophia and I ate our food and then we headed to the precinct

"New York is just so big."
She said

"Yeah, have you been on a tour of the city?"
I asked

"You know since I've been here  2 weeks I haven't got too much-I moved in and settled in my apartment and just got ready for this semester to start..I deff need to look into something to get a better handle on it."
Sophia said

"Where are you living If it's not weird to
Ask?"
I asked

"Here in Manhattan."
She said

"Well what apartment building?"
I asked

"Umm you know I just met you and I don't know you other than your girlfriend doesn't seem fond of me."
Sophia said suspicious

"Fair enough."
I smiled

****Sophia's POV****

Sonny and I just got to the precinct
Our walk here was quiet and we didn't say much else to each other after I didn't tell him where I lived. I'm not sure why exactly he's so into knowing things about me

"You must he Sophia Tanner and Dominick Carisi Jr, I'm Sergeant Olivia Benson."
Olivia approached us

"Nice to officially meet you."
I smiled shaking her hand

"You can just call me Sonny."
Sonny smiled shaking her hand

"I would like to introduce you both to everyone in our squad to get started."
Olivia smiled

Sonny and I was sitting In Olivia's office going over expectations, rules, and what to expect.

"So Sophia how are you liking New York
So far?"
Olivia asked

"I know this is where I'm supposed to be, culture shock at its finest compared to Tennessee. I'm looking forward to getting To know everyone, and getting more of a handle on things. Small town girl to a big huge city."
I said

"Well we are sure glad to have you here, after the first time I interviewed you  I hoped you would come here. I know you would fit in here."
Olivia smiled

"That's so encouraging to hear."
I smiled

"So Sonny in your interview you mentioned hopefully wanting to be a lawyer one day, do you see yourself staying here in New York, I remember you mentioning living in Colorado before here."
Olivia said

I looked at Sonny and he looked at me Then back to Olivia

"I think New York is where I'm gonna be and stay, I have to steal some of Sophia's wording and say that I think this is Where I am supposed to be. New York has been apart of my life since I was 5 and Definitely is a place full of opportunity and needs as many hands on deck."
Sonny said

"Well Sonny I know you are going to fit in here as well, and just interviewing with you I know there's definitely potential in you being a lawyer one day if you decide to still go that route.."
Olivia smiled

"Thanks Sergeant."
Sonny said

Olivia looked over at the clock

"So it's almost 4 do either of you have any questions or concerns?"
Olivia asked

I nodded my head no and then Sonny spoke up

"So will Sophia and I be Doing a lot of work together or will it depend?"
Sonny asked

"It will depend but since you both are at the same level right now in internship you probably will have alot of interaction with one another and who knows once you both are detectives maybe you'll be partners."
Olivia said chipper

My heart was racing and I was nervous
I looked at Sonny and we both Smiled at each other
He is cute, I mean very cute.
Seems nice enough.
I have a feeling this will be interesting
