A week has passed

"Secretary Shin."

Ryujin looked up from the computer screen as soon as the intercom delivered her Boss's voice, a cue for her to stop whatever she was doing for a while and attend to her needs. She cleared her throat and turned the recorder on so she can reply.

"Yes, Ms. Hwang?"

"Cancel the meeting with the Kim's this instant."

"W-What? But they said that you already canceled it last week Ms.Hwang, I don't think they will buy another excuse—"

"I don't care. Cancel it, and make sure that they can clearly get the message to stop pestering my company."

"Noted, Ms.Hwang..."

"Good. Ah I almost forgot— after that, please prepare yourself. We're going somewhere."

"... at Choi Industries?"

"Yes, they asked for the meeting to be held at their place."

"Okay Ms.Hwang, I will wait at your ca—"

"No, let's head down there together. I'll be out in five minutes, so wait for me."

And the line went dead, and Ryujin pursed her lips at her Boss's remarks. Well, her words are the rules of this place anyways, so Ryujin did as she was told. She constructed another email for the Kim Enterprises and stated that the meeting is canceled, yet she also made sure to make it clear that the CEO wants nothing to do with them. She wonders why, but didn't dwell too much on it.

After a solid five minutes of waiting outside the CEO'S office, Ryujin finally looked up as soon as she heard the huge doors opening.

"I already sent them your message, Ms. Hwang."

"Good, and if they still insist to meet me, cancel it all and block all their numbers and accounts."

Ryujin gulped but politely replied, walking behind her boss as silence engulfed them. From what Ryujin knows, her boss wasn't that much older than her yet the aura she exudes can make anyone mistake that she was already a veteran on this industry. Hwang Yeji was truly an intimidating figure, a powerful woman, and Ryujin couldn't say otherwise.

"Why are you walking behind me, Secretary Shin?"

"H-Huh?"

"Stand here, beside me."

"b-but..."

"Are you afraid of me?"

Yeji stopped on her tracks just as they were both in front of the elevator, turning to face her secretary whose eyes where casted down on the floor. Ryujin made no response, which made her raise her brows in confusion. She sighed and tucked her hands inside the pocket of her pants, before she walked a bit closer to her secretary until their bodies were only centimeters apart.

Ryujin gulped and finally looked up as soon as she felt the intimidating aura again, much closer this time. Yeji smirked at her, before leaning down to match her eye level as Ryujin was shorter than her.

"Ms. Shin"

"Y-Yes?"

"Am I intimidating you?"

"Uhm—"

"I want honest answers, Ryujin."

Ryujin could feel her panic attacks kicking in as she tried to steady her breath, yet her stare didn't faltered as she met Yeji's firm gaze despite her nervousness. She tightly gripped the files that she was holding, momentarily worried about the papers but soon forgetting about it as the staring contest went on.

Then Yeji noticed her heavy breathing and her shaking hands, realizing that there was something wrong but before she could ask about it, Ryujin finally spoke with her usual deep yet calming voice.

"Yes, Ms. Hwang, you intimidate me."

"... why?"

"You are my boss, the CEO of the company I'm employed at, shouldn't that explain it? You're way higher than I am, Ms. Hwang, and I look up to you as a role model."

Yeji was flabbergasted at what she said, and it was evident on her flawless face. Ryujin couldn't help but blush at how deep Yeji's stares was, as if she was trying to scan what was beneath her. Yeji's feline eyes were as wide as it could get, her demeanor crumbling for a moment. She cleared her throat and stood up properly, her eyes never leaving Ryujin's brown orbs.

"I am... your role model?"

"Yes, you've heard it right. Before I started working, I heard a lot about you. I even saw some articles of you on the web, about how you've become one of the successful businesswoman at such a young age. So, yes, I admire you. Your hard work, your passion, your will, and your perseverance to stay on top of your game."

Ryujin spoke as her eyes diverted away from the CEO, afraid that she might stutter and make a mess of herself. Unfortunately, she didn't even saw the warm and sincere smile that was on Yeji's face as she talked.

Yeji, oh sweet heavens, she felt like her heart would combust just by looking at the cute girl in front of her — and the fact that Ryujin thinks so highly of her made her feel something that she couldn't explain. Sure, it boosted her ego, yet there was something else too. Tingles, yes, that's what it was. Yeji didn't knew what it was in Ryujin, but she was definitely a charmer that can pull anyone in effortlessly.

"That's... different... Thank you, Ms. Shin..."

"... you find me weird, don't you?"

"What? No, no, I don't... I just find it endearing that you think so highly of me, it's not everyday I hear such compliments. Really, thank you..."

Yeji gave her a small smile, and Ryujin couldn't help but smile back with her whisker dimples on full display. Now that was another one of her charm— she had a beautiful smile that was really contagious.

"No need to thank me, Ms.Hwang..."

"Well, now that we've talk about this, I expect you to not walk on eggshells around me all the time. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Ms.Hwang..."

"Ah, I have one request— no, its an order."

Yeji said as Ryujin stepped forward to press the elevator button, before the two of them got inside the metal box. They were standing side by side, just like how Yeji wants, and a calm silence was engulfing them. Ryujin tilted her head at the statement, patiently waiting for what Yeji was about to say.

"What is it, Ms.Hwang?"

"You can start calling me by my name whenever its only the two of us."

Ryujin couldn't believe it— calling such powerful figure so casually wasn't something that she expected. She was surprised, but she nodded and gave a smile. If that's an order from the Boss, she surely can't disagree with it.

Yeji... Well, her name sure sounds so beautiful.
