Doah told Y/n as they drive up to Doah's home in the countryside. It's far from Seoul and it took them 2 hours to arrive there. The view was green, trees and landscapes surrounded the highway. There were only a few houses on the path and it's just like what Y/n's mind wants. Peaceful place.
"Welcome to my hometown, Inje-gun, Gangwon-Do" The car pulled on a driveway of a not-so-big house. Although it's not that big as a mansion, their land property is pretty wide. "This is your mom's house, right?"
"Yeah"
"Ah, but your father is in Seoul, right? When does he come home here? My dad comes home every weekend because of hectic work, what about yours?"
"They're divorced" the situation became awkward with the two, Doah's unexpected answer made Y/n shake her head. "I'm sorry about that-"
"No, it's fine... they're fine with each other now... both of them got their own families as well and I grew up with the both of their assistance, no need to be sad" Y/n doesn't want to expand the topic more so she just nodded. A lot of people, even her relatives, experienced divorce already. When Y/n was young, there was no time she saw her parents argue but she witnessed an aunt and uncle one time and that time, she realized how 'love' works. Her cousin Kiki never knew her father and Y/n also witnessed how hard is it to be a single mother through Kiki's mom's situation.
"It's really hard to tell if your partner is the real one for you, right? I hope you and your future partner won't fight, unnie" Y/n looked at Doah who was walking ahead of her. Remembering Xiaoting as Doah mentioned "future partner", she recalled the old time when she promised herself not to argue with her partner when she gets in a relationship. But that promise is now broken, how can she tell her old self "hey, your partner will only make you pissed in the future" If Y/n only has to send this message to the parallel world where she's still her old self, she won't get hurt like she is in the present.
"Have you ever liked someone in real life, unnie? Like crushes" Doah asked.
"Uh... I have. In high school"
"Xiaoting unnie mentioned it was a girl? Who was it? Is she pretty?" Doah seemed curious in this topic, Y/n thought. Who won't get interested in love topics anyway? Most friends talk about relationships often, right? Especially exes and present, comparing who's better and stuff.
"Yeah... I don't know how Xiaoting knew about it... I never told her" Y/n thought about it first, does Xiaoting know she liked another girl in class, or was she referring to herself?
"Xiaoting unnie said that girl is very pretty and is a dancer in school..."
Oh, she was pertaining to herself, Y/n thought that made her giggle. Doah stopped in her tracks then turn around, "is there anything funny, unnie?"
"Nothing... that girl... she's pretty cute and is not a dancer. She's a journalist. She's very good at writing letters, sending me one every week"
