This is New Berk. At Snoggletog, the greatest time of the year. The lights, the hunting songs, the holiday shopping. The Yaknog shooters. The only thing missing was... dragons.

Two decorated sheep see a shadow fly over and panic, it turns out just to be a seagull.

It's been ten years since Vikings and Dragons agreed to live apart. But that doesn't mean we've forgotten our flying friends.

Inside the Haddock home they are decorating. Astrid is nailing a garland to the fireplace with a dagger and Hiccup is telling a story to Nuffink, Astrid and Eret's son, who is sitting cross-legged on the floor.

"...and the best part of all of it, Nuffink, was on Snoggletog Eve..."

"Yeah?"

"...I would make Toothless and Shadow their favorite meal."

Nuffink gasped and scooted closer to him, "What was it?"

"Like trout..."

"Yeah." He nodded excitedly.

"...with a side of sea trout."

"Yeah."

"...on a bed of brook trout."

"We all like trout." Nuffink nodded his head with a goofy smile.

Hiccup smiled wholeheartedly at the young boy, looking over to Astrid, who smiled with an even younger kid in her arms. He looked back at Nuffink, "Even though they're gone, I still make it for them. A lot of families do stuff like this. It keeps our loved ones in our hearts even though they are far away. So... want to help me catch some fish?"

"Good on you, we're going to feed Toothless. I don't need a fishing pole uncle, I'll just butt the fish with me head." Nuffink replied, his accent strong as he spoke before he ran into the fireplace with his head, "Ow! Ow! Ow, haha."

He does it several times, while Astrid and Hiccup look at each other. Astrid placed one hand on Hiccup's shoulder while she held onto her few months old baby with her other arm, "Thank you for keeping an eye on them, Hiccup."

The said Chief shook his head with a smile, "It's no problem at all." He turned to Nuffink, "Come on Nuffink, let's get Toothless his snack."

The said boy laughed while following him as Hiccup walks towards the door with a fishing pole.

We were excited about making a traditional dragon feast. And then it hit me...

He opens the door and steps out. Seconds later a log swings and hits him and crashes him into the snow. Nuffink runs to the door to see what has happened. Astrid comes up behind him, "Ahh!"

Not everyone was on board.

He sits up in the snow as Zephyr, Astrid's and Eret's oldest of three comes running up, "Hah hah hah! Yes, it works!"

Astrid stands in the doorway as Nuffink now rides the swinging log. It nearly hits her but she stops it from swinging easily with one hand, "Zephyr, what are you doing?"

Zephyr was reeling in a rope on a winch while answering her mother, "Testing my dragon defense system. You and all the grown-ups in New Berk are leaving them snacks. What if one shows up?"

Hiccup stood up and out of the snow, freeing himself from the cold, "That would be great! We love dragons." He answered, making Zephyr cringe.

"Why? They're monsters!"
