The ringing of my alarm jolted me awake from my peaceful sleep, I turned to the direction of the sound my alarm was making and passed the off button. I fell back down on my pillow and slowly started to open my eyes and take in my surroundings.
I quickly sat up in a panic and looked around the room not understand where I was but after a few seconds of panic, the past few days events all came back to me quickly, especially yesterdays events.
Oh god, I spoke back to them yesterday and then ran off, I am going to get punished for sure. I felt panic again rise in my chest. Alright I need to calm down it will be alright, maybe if I quickly get ready and make them breakfast I can leave a little earlier and they'll have forgotten about everything by the afternoon.
I knew deep down that wouldn't be the case, but a girl can hope can't she?
I slowly got out of bed and felt my body screaming at me. The pain had dulled down a little but it will take a few weeks to completely heal, that is if I don't get beaten again before. Which I probably will
I walked over to the bathroom and started the water, hopefully the hot water will sooth my aching bones a little.
I finished showering and getting ready, I was nervous so I didn't put much effort into my looks today, I covered my bruises and let my hair fall loosely in its natural waves.
I found my uniform on the couch where I left it yesterday evening and put it on. I think this would be the part where a lot of people would put on some sort of perfume or body spray, but I never had that luxury, I did however see my aunt and Ava drowning themselves in it. The scent of their perfume would enter the room before them.
I took one last glance in the mirror, grabbed my schoolbag and quietly glided down the stairs. I had no idea where the kitchen was but I knew it was somewhere beside the dining room so I went there and then eventually found the kitchen.
I saw the lights were on which didn't surprise me since it was only 6.00am and everyone will probably be sleeping. I placed my bag on the floor beside the kitchen door and started looking through the fridge for ingredients to make breakfast.
I woke up a little earlier since there is more people to cook breakfast for. I started off by making the pancakes since they took the longest to cook and then when they were almost finished I started cooking the bacon and eggs in a separate pan.
I was quietly humming and cracking an egg into the pan when I heard someone speak behind me.
"I see we have another early riser"
I jumped and let out a short scream while dropping the egg I was holding onto the floor. I quickly turned around and saw Nicholas standing in the doorway in shock.
"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to scream o..or drop the egg", I quickly bent down and started gathering the now broken eggs shells in my hands.
"its alright Emilia, I shouldn't have snuck up on you I am so sorry", Nicholas apologised and walked over to the kitchen sink, wet a rag and bent down to help me clean the eggs continents.
