3rd Person PoV

It was tense.

Y/n and Hartley were staring each other down.

Spider to frost.

No one in the vacinity watching them dared to move, clearly worried that if they did move then they'd trigger Hartley's movement.

"Y/n? What's going on?"

"What's the likeliness that I grab that solution and it doesn't get destroyed as soon as I do because of Hartley?" y/n asked, glancing back to the drone before quickly looking to her opposition.

"50/50? Actally, no. Its probably more like 60/40."

"So not good then," y/n sighed before she felt her toes beginning to get colder.

"Y/n! Jump!"

Looking down, she quickly noticed the ice below her feet had been growing and shot webs up to the ceiling again. She tore her feet from the icing floor and swung herself out the doorway thinking 'fuck it' as she moved.

Reaching the drone, she shot a web to close the distance and pulled the solution towards her.

It was a syringe with a very blue looking solution in it.

"Fiachra solution retrieved. Take the drone away before it gets damaged," she ordered her team, the drone quickly flew away just as Hartley came charging out of the building.

Y/n jumped away from him and stood on the balcony railing before quickly webbing her suit and creating a safety pouch to hold the syringe in.

She pocketed it and looked to Hartley.

"Alright. Follow me, big guy," she beckoned before stepping off the balcony and allowing herself to fall down.

When she reached the second floor(/third floor for anyone who thinks the ground floor is the first floor) she shot her webs up to the bottom of the balcony and swung herself out away from the building, Hartley chasing her as she moved away from the building and headed towards the forest that she had to drive through an hour ago to reach the house.

Once y/n felt she was far enough away from any other people, she stopped swinging through the trees and perched at the top of one. Staring down at the ground below.

The closer Hartley got, the frostier it got around her so she spun a trap.

Thread surrounded the trees, some were thin and hard to see, others were thicker and quite obviously there. Difference was they were there to lead Hartley straight towards her trap.

She'd found a hole in the ground and webbed it over before quickly throwing a bunch of overgrowth over it.

She took to the trees and sat, waiting, watching. She hoped that her haphazard trap wouldn't be too obvious and that he'd fall for it.

Waiting, she found herself sat there for a while before she finally began to see her breath appearing in the air and turned.

The ground and trees froze over as Hartley came blindly charging down the route she'd laid out for him.

She could sense him running over her thinner threads, signalling to her just how far away her was.

Ten...

Nine...

Eight...

Y/n stood up in the trees and got ready to move again.

Seven...

Six...

Five...

Four...

She pulled the syringe out of the web woven pouch and held it tightly in her hand.

Three...

Two...

One...

There.

Hartley came charging straight into sight and ran forward, walking right over the webbed pit.

Y/n watched, expecting him to fall but frowning when he didn't.

The only thing she could think of was that the ice and frost must've somehow reinforced her webs more and prevented the trap from working.

But then she remembered. In the same way they were reinforced, they were also weakened.

All the webs needed was a little extra weight and force.

Shooting webs to two sturdy branches across from each other, y/n pulled on her threads as Hartley shouted out for her frustratedly. He clearly wanted to take her out before he could take out Argent. That way he'd be able to kill his former boss without being interrupted by y/n.

Shaking out her body a bit and bending her knees, y/n wrapped the webs around her hands a bit making her mask move back a bit so she could hold the syringe in her mouth before she jumped off the branch she was perched on.

She flew down in front of Hartley, he watched with wide eyes as her feet created a loud crack and the floor below him began to fall in.

It all happened in seconds.

One moment, y/n was looking at Hartley falling down into the hole, then she blinked, but when she opened her eyes...

She found herself stood in an alleyway.

Startled and still reeling from her bungee chord like propulsion she was just in, y/n stumbled back and crashed into a bin, almost damaging the syringe in the process.

"Shit, shit shit," y/n quickly checked the syringe and then let out a sigh when she found it was fine before looking around, "what the hell just happened? Was I dreaming?"

Putting her finger to her earpiece she activated comms again, wondering if it had just gone offline accidentally.

"Hello?" she called out, "does anyone hear me?"

She got nothing but an ear piercing static that caused her to pull the piece of tech out and toss it to the side.

She pressed the button on her chest and made her suit fold back up into the pendant around her neck.

She walked out onto the street to see it wasn't anything like the streets she remembered.
