Hawk's hoofbeats rang on the cobblestone as we rode through the Castle Cloverside gate.
Hawk snorted at the sentries stationed by the gate.
"I'm here on official ranger...business" I wasn't sure what to say. I hoped that covered it.
"Head inside then" one said.
I clicked the reigns and brought Hawk closer over to the stables. Handing his reigns to the stablehand. I dismounted and started the walk to the castle doors.
I stared at the massive oak doors towering over me.
I hadn't been here in a while.
I pounded on the massive door. About a second later, Kevin the Secretary opened the door.
He gestured me inside with a small nod and made way for me.
He shut the door and lead me down a hall.
"How may I help- oh its you" He said tiredly.
I frowned. "How hospitable" I scoffed silently.
"Why are you here then?" He asked.
I didn't hear his question, I was staring at the familiar rooms and passageways of the castle. I missed it more then I realized...
"Miss Rielle!" Squaked Kevin. I jumped at his high tone and turned my attention back to the lanky man towering over me. Annoyance overcoming my thoughts.
"My apologies" I sighed, "is the Baron free? I have something important to speak to him about" I asked.
"I will arrange for you to meet with him in a moment" he said. He lead me into a small room with a table and chairs inside.
"Wait here till someone fetches you" he ordered. His tone rather demanding.
My eyebrows furrowed. This man was acting rather arrogantly.
I wondered how the Baron would feel about his behavior.
I shrugged it off. He was probably just having a bad day.
He shut the door. His footsteps echoed down the hall he walked away.
I stood there for a second. Unsure what to do.
"I guess I could sit" I whisperd to myself. Pulling out a chair, I sat. Pondering how I would explain all this to the Baron.
I don't even know who the bone clan is...
I rested my feet on the table.
Leaning back in my chair, I pondered my course of action.
"So I'll tell him about the guy who tried to punch me...then say Keith recognized him as a member of the bone clan..."
I pursed my lips in thought.
My thoughts slid back to my brother. Maybe I could ask if he was available to meet today...
"No he's busy-" I told myself.
The door burst open. Revealing the Baron with Kevin in his wake.
He had a serious expression plastered on his face.
"Good day Rielle" he greeted me.
"Good day sir" I replied. He walked over and pulled a chair out and sat across from me.
"Coffee?" He asked.
I politely declined and changed the topic to the issue at hand.
"Someone attacked me and Keith in the forest" I said.
