A few days had passed. The intimates so far had been confined to punching bags, agility and weight training. Christina and Emery had mostly been sparring together, as well as Al and Will, they had become a close foursome.
No one yet had actually fought against one another for the leader's benefit on putting scores on the board, they had been silently watching who trained for the longest, who had the best form, who was at the front when they ran around the compound. Eric hadn't spoken to Emery since the first day, he had silently been watching her. Alongside Max, one of the Dauntless leaders, who had heard of the stiff transfer.
"She's not bad" Max regarded.
"It's probably too early to tell" Eric stated, he didn't want Max to let on that he enjoyed watching her. "She's one of the fastest runners, good agility, and pretty good form".
"First jumper?" Max asked, Eric nodded.
"Interesting" he regarded before walking away.
Eric walked over towards Four. "Ready for some real fighting?" Eric asked him.
"Not even close" Four regarded. There was potential there, especially in some candidates. He looked at the stiff. She was good, but he was nervous. People could show a loit of potential, and then when it came to the nitty, gritty, they buckled. Four looked at Eric, knowing what he was thinking.
Dauntless leadership watched potential candidates for recruitment from the get go, and Four wasn't stupid. He saw the way Eric looked at her, like a greedy wolf. He knew Eric wanted to recruit her, albeit being her potential or her being very easy on the eyes; meaning she was going to have to show herself.
"Are you sure this is wise-" Four began
"First jumper!" Eric shouted across the Pit, silencing everyone. Too late, Four thought to himself.
Emery looked up from her stretches and caught Eric's eye, he smirked and gestured with his finger. Four watched Emery walk over, his mouth twitched a little with a strange pride. He could tell she wasn't nervous, she was studying, thinking.
"Last jumper" Eric bellowed, "In the ring".
Emery watched closely as a large broad girl called Molly slinked into the ring. I can take her, she thought.
Molly was large whereas Emery was slim, making her likely a little stronger, however, Emery was quicker, more agile.
I have better form, she thought as she looked down to her foot. Molly had twisted it jumping off the train. Use that to my advantage, she thought.
"How long do we fight for?" Molly asked.
"Until one of you cannot continue," Eric said looking at Emery instead of the other girl. Emery's face twisted a little, it was like Eric expected her to lose just because Molly was bigger than her. Asshole.
"Or till one of you concedes" Four added.
"According to the old rules", Eric corrected. "New rules, no one concedes"
Four clenched his jaw and frowned at Eric, turning and murmuring something in his ear.
"Until they cannot continue" Eric hissed at Four, locking his eyes on his to assert some sort of control he desired from everyone. "What are you waiting for? Go!"

Molly began the fight, charging at Emery, aiming to use her weight against her. But Emery was quick and noticed she wasn't guarding her stomach. Emery jolted a quick, hard jab to her stomach and darted out the way, making Molly trip and fall.
