In a world where society is separated into factions, you must decide where you fit in.
A girl faces danger after choosing Dauntless as her home, craving adventure and experience.
Her interesting mind and surprising talent catch the eye of the Daunt...
People had been partying and socialising non stop as the initiates had nothing else to do before waiting for the results for their physical.
People were partying and drinking to celebrate as some knew they would come out the other side unscathed.
Some were doing it to forget.
Al for one was nervous. Having drank a bottle of Jack Daniel's the night before the results came out, he had passed out on his bed. Full clothed, with bottle in hand.
Will, Christina and Emery had also talked him out of a rather unflattering tattoo. They got there too late for the eyebrow piercing though.

Christina and Emery had gotten another tattoo to celebrate though.
Emery's was three very small birds, etched onto the top of her spine.

They went to bed that night, laughing and drinking the night away.
And then the morning came.
Dreaded for some, exciting for others.
Emery for one was both. She couldn't stop thinking of Al and where he would be. He had improved, but she worried his clashes with Eric and other Dauntless leaders may hinder his place.
"It's now or never", Will said to the three of them, as the foursome all joined hands and walked to the pit together.
They were greeted with the other initiates, Zeke watching from the sidelines cheering on Emery and his brother.
As well as the Dauntless elite.
Four, Eric, Roman and Max in particular.
"If you are ranked above the red line, you'll move onto the second stage of training", Max explained, walking back and forth below the screen dauntingly. "If you're below it, we'll waste no more time on you" he said with a shrug. Emery caught Max's eye, seeing a glimmer within them. "Here are your rankings". He announced.
She closed her eyes for a moment. This is it.
Then she looked.
Emery didn't bother looking for her name first, she would only be able to relax knowing all her friends would progress with her.
