"Mommy is mama gonna be there for my birthday?" Blaze asked with a pout. I sighed and frowned a little.
"I'm not sure baby but we're gonna make this a great birthday no matter what okay?" I said trying to cheer her up. She nodded a little but was still visibly sad. Y/n had been gone in the military for a year and a half now and Blaze is not coping with her being gone too well. To be honest neither am I.
"Hey let's call mama so you can talk to her ok?" I said and she perked up immediately and smiled eager to see her mama. This made me smile brightly, she's such a mama's girl.
I got my phone out and FaceTimed Y/n. She picked up the phone and she was in this place with white walls I could hear people talking in the back but it was muffled because she had her AirPods in.
"He- before I could say anything Blaze got in the camera and shouted.
"Hey, mama!" She yelled taking the phone from me excited to see Y/n. Y/n laughed making me smile but my smile dropped when I noticed her wince slightly. Of course, Blaze didn't notice so she continued talking to Y/n I zoned out thinking about why she winced and all the possible ways she could've gotten hurt. As I was zoned out I could hear her talk to Blaze and groan and wince occasionally. She did it slightly and quietly so Blaze wouldn't notice. I felt myself tearing up fearing that something happened to her.
"Mommy!" I heard Blaze yell snapping me out of my thoughts. I wiped the tears threatening to fall out and I saw Y/n furrow her eyebrows a little in the corner of my eye moving closer to the camera to see what was happening.
"Yes, baby," I said focusing my attention on Blaze.
"You okay mommy?" She asked making me smile and nod.
"Yeah, mommy's ok, um go wake up aunty Chris baby," I said and she nodded giving me my phone back before going to find Chris. I sniffled a little forgetting Y/n was there.
"You good beautiful?" I heard her ask making me look at the phone. She was laid back on some kind of bed or chair or something, her hair was in a bun and she had her shirt off.
"Yeah, I'm good. Are you good?" I asked hoping she would reveal what all that wincing was for.
"Yeah, I'm uh...good." She said looking down.
"Mhm, you sure about that?"
"Yeah, what do you mean?"
"Do you really think I'm stupid Y/n I saw you wince multiple times. Blaze might not have noticed but I did so don't fucking lie to me." I said angrily making her sigh.
"Look it's only a minor injury. Ok? Nothing to be getting worried about."
