Chapter 2

"How's your first day with Dr. Lim?", Chul, the chief resident, asked Jimin later that day while eating lunch besides each other in the call room.

"It was good. They did their morning rounds really early so I wasn't that prepared but Dr. Jung helped me and Dr. Lim was really supportive so Dr. Kim had no choice but to forgive me each time I answered wrong.", Jimin answered as he hurriedly slurped his stew. He and Hoseok saw a lot of patients in the OPD so he barely has time to eat lunch before he needs to prepare to assist Dr. Lim and Namjoon in the endoscopy unit in a while.

"You're lucky to be assigned to Dr. Lim. I had Dr. Baek when I was rotating in Gastroenterology and it was hell. It was also the time when Dr. Kim was just a first-year fellow, and Dr. Hwang was the senior fellow. They were both so strict! Dr. Hwang especially was insufferable. Good thing he graduated already. Dr. Jung seems to be okay.", Aecha, a third-year resident commented. Jimin hummed in agreement.

"Yeah, Dr. Jung's nice. He even gave me pointers on what to do and how to answer later during the procedures."

"Awww... and he's cute too! Did you notice how his whole face lights up when he smiles? And his cute little dimples? I wish it's my turn to rotate in Gastro soon!", Danbi, Jimin's fellow second year resident exclaimed.

Chul laughed at the enthusiasm.

"Glad you're excited. Especially since it's Dr. Baek's turn again to have the fellows and residents shadow him by the time it's your turn in Gastro.", the chief resident announced making Danbi wail at her misfortune.

"I hope next year, when I'm in my second year already I still get to rotate with Dr. Kim. He's so handsome and smart, not to mention tall and buff. I bet he has tattoos. He’s such an alpha male. If I try to flirt with him, please just turn a blind eye.", Eunji, a first-year resident proclaims. Since the first-year residents man the floor and answer to their senior resident and report directly to the consultants, they have minimal interactions with the fellows. Despite that, Kim Namjoon has gained a reputation for being the most sought-after heartthrob in the hospital amongst the residents, even those from other departments.

"What are you talking about, Eunji? That man's married with children. Are you planning to be a home wrecker?", Chul asked incredulously.

"What?!", the rest of the residents in the call room screamed, making Jimin flinch. It's a rare occasion that the call room is filled with residents even at lunch time so it's a bit chaotic right now much to his dismay. As much as he wants to have a quick lunch and cram for his next cases, he couldn't help but participate in gossiping. It's a favorite pastime among them, and a luxury since they don't always get to spend much time in the call room except during morning and afternoon endorsements.

"How did you know? Did he tell you?", Eunji asked dramatically as she sat next to Chul.

"Well… Dr. Kim Namjoon may have caught everyone's attention when he first applied so we did some stalking during that time... Ooops, I meant to say research, because we are men and women of science, we research. We don't stalk.", Chul giggled as she set her food aside and opened her laptop in front of her.

"He doesn't have social media but his wife does and her profile is public.", the chief resident said, opening Park Mi Hi's social media profile with familiarity. "See? She's a Dermatologist but she doesn't practice here. She has her own private clinic. And they already have three kids. One daughter and twin sons."

Everyone gathered in front of Chul's laptop and cooed at the kids and admired Mi Hi's beauty.

"I should have just taken Dermatology. Everyone in that department looks beautiful and fresh.", Danbi murmured making everyone laugh, with some agreeing with her. Jimin stared at the pictures in front of him unable to comprehend how the seemingly gentle giant in the pictures almost made him poop in his pants just this morning.
