Curly chocolate brown hair bounced as the boy walked. Despite the large mushroom hat sitting on his head, I couldn't help but watch this odd boy's every move.

What was a human doing this far away from its species?

Swinging my legs slightly, I stayed silent as he walked under my tree branch. A basket full of herbs swung loosely on his wrist as he hummed. It was soft but a calm melody that was easy on the ears.

I picked a flower that was known for healing wounds off the tree and twirled it in between my fingers. You had to climb high for this type of flower, for it only grew in high altitudes, but it was the best for making regeneration potions.

A harsh wind blew through the trees, ripping the basket away from the boy. Luckily for him, I caught it before it completely blew away, it would be such a waste of herbs!

"Ah."

His sudden gasp startled me a bit. I locked eyes with a pair of heterochromia ones. The left one of dark chocolate brown and the right one was a soft ocean blue. They were beautiful compared to my plain e/c eyes.

I smirked and leaned forward, he couldn't reach me up here. "What's a little human like you doing so far away from the village?" It was at least a good five minute walk from here to there. If he walked another five minutes, he'd be in danger for entering the pixies domain.

"Looking for herbs, Elf."

Did I mention that humans and magical creatures didn't get along, at all. It was a matter of time before war broke out between the two.

"Elf, has a name chibi." The boy fumed at being called small, in reality, he was probably a good four inches taller than me, but from up here he looked small to me.

"Yeah well I have no interest in learning it if it comes from an elf." I don't understand why they hate us so much. My face scrunched up in irritation, "Are all humans like you rude and inconsiderate?"

I could tell I was making him angry, but honestly? He was being unnecessarily rude!

"Nope, that just so happens to be my default setting toward elves. Specifically rude ones that take other peoples things." He crossed his arms and glared up at me.

Oh, so now I'm the rude one?

I groaned and closed my eyes, this boy was such a hypocrite. With a hard glare, I dropped down from the branch, my feet hit the ground with a loud thud.

My pouch full of herbs and potions clinked against my leg loudly, drawing his attention to it. I shoved the basket into his chest and growled.

"Here's your basket back, next time. Hold onto it better." I opened my herb pouch on my belt and gently put the flower in. "Honestly, this is how the war is going to start, its going to be a pixie and a human. One pixie is going to say the wrong thing and the human is going to lash out and hit 'em." I snapped the pouch shut and glared up at the male.

He had a startled wide-eyed look in his eyes, "You think a war is going to start?"

Now that I lured the human into a conversation so I started walking back to the human village. "Only a total idiot couldn't see it coming, of course, that seems to be haf the Earth's population."

I crouched down next to some red colored moss and plucked the tiny flowers that were growing in it.

"I didn't know it was that bad..."  Raising an eybrow and I stood up, continuing my pace. "What have you been living under? A castle? A rock?" The male looked away sheepishly, "Maybe I have been." I finally took the time to admire his look.

His ears were decorated with the finest jewels that were only seen on high born elves and human royalty.

His cape was made out of a heavy silk, and the fur was made from only the highest purebred wolfs.

I stumbled in my step when I saw the brooch that was holding his cape together.

Holy fuck I was talking to the prince of the Kinoko Kingdom.

I looked forward, trying not to yelp and run away. If the high elves found out I had talked to the human Prince George, our enemy, I could have my head cut off for treason.

This was bad.

"Are... you okay? You look a bit pale."

I stopped in my tracks and stared at him. I was definitely going to be killed. Oh god.

Swallowing hard, I tried to think rationally. It's going to be fine. You're the royal healer, they won't kill you. Besides, its not like anyone knows that you're talking to a Prin-

The trees rustling up ahead of us broke me from my thoughts. Thinking a quickly as I could, I pulled my dagger off of my belt and flung it up at whoever was watching us. Down fell and black haired elf with a bow in hand. The arrow fell down and peirced him in the neck, killing him on the spot.

My horror set in almost immediately.

They know.

"Oh fuck." George seemed flabbergasted as I ripped the danger out of his body and turned to him. "It's not safe for you here anymore. The highborn elves have found out I've talked to a human royal and will try to kill me for it. You should run." I could tell George didn't know what to think as I pushed him in the direction of the village.

"W-Wait! What about you! You said they were going to try and kill you! Just for talking to me? That seems absur-. Wait, you knew?" He spun around and grabbed my shoulders, stopping my panic for just a moment. "Figured it out just a few moments ago princey. You should go before they try and kill you as well."

I tried to offer him a smile but heavy foot steps fell behind us. Spinning around, I faced the higher guard, "Y/n L/n. Higher Healer, you have been sentenced with Treason which is punishable by death. You are now an enemy of the Elves and will be put down as such." One of them spoke with a nasty smile. There were four of them, sounding my front in a half moon formation.

Suddenly one locked eyes with George, "We could get rid of the bigger problem as well. Make it seem like he lost his way and fell down a cliff."

That brought back some of my courage, "How about you pussies piss off and stop trying to start a war you won't win." Magic swirled in the air, it was so thick I could taste it. "Your Highness, I suggest you get going." I stood ina defensive stance in frot of George, my dagger ready to kill anyone who took a step toward me. I et off a deadly aura that made them take a step back.

"Hey do you think the rumors are true? Was he really an assasine before this?" I rolled my eyes and lunged for the guard with a bow. Chaos erupted and I saw George backing away in fear as I dodge and blocked attacks.

I locked eyes with him for possibly the last time, "GO! RUN, I'LL BE FINE!" He gave me once last glance before darting in the direction of the village. I sighed in relief and kicked a guard with a spear in the gut. "Come on pretty boy, you wanna dance. Then stop fucking around and lets dance."
