"And every night my mind is running around her.."

Peter's POV

After what felt like an eternity, the movie finally ended, and I slowly opened my eyes to the now brightly lit room, realizing that I had been clutching Y/n's arm tightly during the entire movie. Embarrassed, I let go and relaxed back into my seat, attempting to regain my composure.

"Peter, it's over," Y/n remarked, her laughter bubbling up as she observed my reaction. I couldn't help but join in, realizing how ridiculous I must have looked.

"How do people enjoy these movies?" I questioned, still feeling a lingering adrenaline rush from the intense scenes.

"Probably to witness people like you getting scared silly," she teased, her laughter continuing to fill the air.

"Yeah, yeah, okay," I playfully responded, standing up from my seat and hearing the crunch of popcorn beneath my feet. "I'll pay you back for the popcorn."

"Nah, I'd say watching you during that movie was payment enough," Y/n quipped, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Welp, there goes your free money," I replied with a shrug, ready to leave the theater.

"Crap, you're right. I changed my mind!" she exclaimed in mock disappointment. I shook my head, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips, and began walking toward the exit, gradually picking up speed with each step.

"Peter!" I heard Y/n's voice behind me, prompting me to increase my pace. Running out of the building and around the corner, I found a hiding spot and waited, peeking my head out to check if she had left the theater yet. However, she was nowhere in sight. Uncertain, I stepped out from my hiding spot and peered through the glass doors, but there was still no sign of Y/n. Just as I was about to run back inside, someone suddenly jumped out in front of me and screamed. Startled, I jumped back, letting out a scream of my own, before realizing it was Y/n. She collapsed to the ground, overcome with laughter, and I couldn't help but join in. We laughed together for a few minutes, the sound echoing through the empty street.

Finally regaining our composure, Y/n looked over at me, still giggling. "I'm sorry, it's just your face when I scared you," she managed to say between laughs.

"Okay, okay, we get it!" I replied, pretending to be offended. "Now come on, I've got one last thing planned." Grabbing her hand, we both ran toward our apartment complex, our laughter echoing behind us. As we arrived at our building, I instructed her to go to the top while I quickly swung up to retrieve the bag. May, who now knew my secret identity as Spider-Man, handed me the bag, understanding my need for haste. "Thank you!" I said gratefully.

With the bag in hand, I swung up to the rooftop, using my webs to connect a couple of lanterns and laying out a picnic blanket. Placing pillows strategically around the area and setting up a cooler filled with soda, I positioned my phone to be ready for the final touch. Taking a deep breath to steady my nerves, I awaited Y/n's arrival. The door to the rooftop opened, and Y/n stepped out, her jaw dropping in surprise.

"Surprise!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my excitement. She walked over, expressing her awe at the setup, and we both settled down on the cozy blanket. Y/n rested her head on my shoulder, and I pointed out a cluster of stars in the sky.

"See those small clusters of stars right there?" she asked, as I followed her gaze.

"By Orion?" I inquired, and she nodded. "Yeah, I see them."

"That's called the Andromeda. It's the smallest constellation, and it's my favorite," she explained, a hint of fondness in her voice. "Because they're so small, they're often overlooked or forgotten about. Everyone always looks for the Big Dipper or Leo, but me? I look for them."

Resting my head on top of hers, we both received notifications on our phones, disrupting the serene moment. It was a message from Ned.

"Soooo, how's it going?" the message read.

"Really good, dude," I replied, excitement coursing through me.

"Have you done it yet? Y'know, played the song?" Ned inquired eagerly.

"No, not yet, I'm about to, though," I responded, feeling the anticipation build.

"DO IT!" Ned's enthusiasm was palpable even through text.

Realizing I had almost forgotten about the song, I quickly swiped out and opened Spotify, selecting the track that would complete the surprise. My heart raced, a mix of nervousness and anticipation filling the air.

Y/n's POV

After exchanging texts with MJ, I chuckled and placed my phone back on the ground, focusing my attention back on the stars above. The familiar melody of a song began to play, and I recognized it immediately.

"Oh, I love this song!" I exclaimed, glancing over at Peter, my heart fluttering with anticipation.

"I can't let you go now that I got it," the lyrics filled the air, and it took me a split second to realize what Peter was doing. Now it all made sense. His nervousness, the setup, everything.

"And all I need,"

"Maybe this is to early", Peter mumbled his eyes closing as he looked up at the sky.

"Peter, it's been wayyy over two years now," I said softly, my gaze fixed on his beautiful, earnest eyes.

"Is to be struck by your," we both leaned in, our lips meeting in a passionate kiss. Time seemed to stand still as butterflies danced in my stomach. The song played on, the lyrics providing a melodic backdrop to our moment of pure bliss. After a few precious seconds, we pulled away, our lips parting but still connected in a shared smile.

I leaned over, resting my head on Peter's shoulder, basking in the warmth of the moment. "Not too early?" he asked,

"Nope," I replied, his gaze locked with mine. "I'd say just around the right time." He leaned in once more, placing a tender kiss on my forehead.

"I'd say this is your best date yet, Peter," I whispered,

"Really?" he asked, a mixture of excitement and uncertainty in his voice.

"Well, one could argue that the Star Wars convention was better," I teased playfully.

"Hey, that was for fun, 'cause Ned was there too," Peter defended, a hint of laughter in his voice. "Besides, you're the one who bought two lightsabers."

"And you bought a whole Jedi robe and a lightsaber, not to mention a porg that sits on your shoulder," I countered, a smile spreading across my face. He chuckled at the memory.

"And the best part about tonight?" I asked, curiosity lacing my words.

"What's that?" Peter inquired, his eyes shining with anticipation.

"This f/s, (favorite soda) mine at the theater was flat! So this, this is my favorite thing right now," I replied jokingly, taking a sip from the soda in my hand.

"What!" Peter exclaimed, looking slightly offended. I nodded, a mischievous glint in my eyes, and began to stand up.

"Wait, where are you going?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

"To get more f/s, obviously," I replied, feigning seriousness. As I walked over to the cooler, I felt something stick to my shirt, and before I knew it, Peter pulled me back into his arms, wrapping them around me in a warm embrace.

"You think you're so funny," he murmured, his voice filled with affection.

"Yes, yes, I do," I replied, a wide grin spreading across my face. He leaned in and pecked my cheek gently,

"And the best part about tonight, and be honest because I want to know now," he began, his voice soft but filled with sincerity.

"The best part?" I repeated, "Is right now, with you."
