Chapter 5 - Falling Slowly

Bong Bong's finger hovered over the call button upon reading Leni's text message. He was contemplating whether or not he'll call Leni. He wasn't expecting it, knowing how their last meeting ended.

Finally, he decided to get it over with and pressed the call button. He heard the other line ring for a few times till Leni picked up. She answered,

"Hello?"

Bong Bong could sense the anticipation in her voice. She was clearly waiting for him to call her.

"So... what is this about?"

"Gusto kita makausap. In person."

"Didn't we already do that?"

"Yes pero it didn't go the way I want it to. Alam mo yun."

"You still doubt me?"

Bong Bong heard a long pause before Leni spoke again,

"I... I just need better answers."

Bong Bong thought about everything that happened between them so far. Ben's advice suddenly echoed through Bong Bong's head,

Stay close to her.

For Bong Bong, this was the perfect opportunity for him to follow through Ben's advice. He then answered Leni,

"Are you home?"

"Yes... Bakit?"

"Send me your address. I'll pick you up."

A few hours after her call with Bong Bong, Leni found herself in front of her condominium's lobby, waiting for him to pick her up. She feels slightly nervous about seeing him again, remembering their last kiss. She shook her head, trying to dismiss that memory.

Focus on your goal, Leni. He's just distracting you.

Eventually, she saw a black suv pull up in front of her. The car was heavily tinted. She knew that it was Bong Bong's, based on the plate number he sent her. She slowly approached the car then opened its front door. Bong Bong was driving.

"Get in." He said.

Leni got in his car with slight hesitation. She looked at the backseat as she closed her door. Bong Bong said,

"Don't worry. Tayo lang ang nandito."

Leni replied with sarcasm in her voice,

"Is that a good thing?"

Bong Bong smirked as he leaned over towards Leni, startling her. His body was so close to her that she could breathe in his scent is as he put on her seatbelt for her. Leni thought that he smelled good. As good as the night she got drunk. He leaned back saying,

"You tell me. Baka mamaya, mauwi nanaman tayo sa halikan."

Flustered by his answer, Leni glared at Bong Bong.

"S- seryosong meeting 'to, Bong Bong."

Bong Bong chuckled as they started to drive away.

"Fine. If that's what you say..."

They drove in silence for a while till they reached the underground parking lot of a tall building. Bong Bong parked the car then turned to Leni,

"We're here."

Bong Bong escorted Leni out of the car and led her inside a private elevator. He pushed the button for the highest floor. Leni asked him,

"Are you sure walang makakakita satin?"
