Y/N'S POINT OF VIEW

One of the dogs suddenly attacks, leaping into the air in a single motion.

Irene meets it with her Swiss Army knife. She thrusts the blade into its neck, but the force of its attack is too strong, causing Irene to stagger backward toward me. Hot, thick, foul-smelling blood sprays on both of us.

Irene's hand slips from her knife. It's still buried in the dog's neck when it falls to the floor, snorting, blood still spewing from its wound. It's the golden retriever, the smallest of the pack. The other one—the Siberian husky—prepares itself to attack.

Irene turns to me. "The other two aren't here, Y/n. Be alert. They might—"

"Look out!" Nayeon cries out, just as the remaining dog leaps into the air.

It lands on Irene, tackling her to the ground. Without her knife, she can't fight it off. I waste no time, tightening my grip on the baseball bat and hitting the dog on the head. It lets out a whimper before its spasming body hits the ground.

Irene immediately stood up.

"Where are the other two dogs?" Dahyun asks nervously. They're still standing by the window, frozen in place.

"How the hell would we know?" Irene snaps. She bends down to retrieve her knife. "It's your fucking job to keep them distracted."

The two shorter girls recoil. "I-I'm sorry..."

"This isn't their fault," Sana interjects. "If there's anything to blame here, it's you." She gives Irene a piercing look, her gaze full of venom.

"Oh? Why is that?"

"This was all your idea. You think you're so clever. You believe you can defeat those dogs with your so-called 'wits.'" Sana lets out an incredulous laugh. "We should've gone with Y/n's plan. We shouldn't have listened to you."

Irene glares at her. "If you can stomach the thought of just staying here and doing nothing, count me out. I don't intend to watch while the world and all of humanity turn to dust. I'm not like you, without a conscience."

"Girls, stop," Tzuyu warns. "Please. Just let it go."

But Sana won't back down. "You know what? The first time we saw you in B.M, I knew right away that you couldn't be trusted. Ever since you joined us, we haven't had a proper plan. You're ruining everything."

Ugh. This is getting out of hand. How can I stop these two from fighting? Seriously, we just killed two fucking dogs, and right now, the last thing I need is to deal with this drama.

Irene laughs mockingly, setting Sana on edge. "Oh, is that jealousy I'm hearing in your voice? You must be so used to being the leader of this group."
